HELP! Anyone....

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Been playing the game for the last two months, absolutely love it!!!

However, started experiencing issues back in mid-June with the game crashing to desktop everytime I played. I have logged an issue on feedback.dayzgame.com - issue #0013419. There you can find a number of crash files and DxDiag files and some fixes that have been suggested by others and what I have tried to fix it (also, started getting bad lag about a week and a half ago, issue logged (#0014205) which has been linked to issue #0014031).

Does anyone else have any suggestions/potential fixes/ideas that I can try since I am starting to get extremely frustrated at the crashing and lag....including the lack of response by the Developers (beyond acknowledgeing my issue 2 weeks after I posted it)....I understand they are busy with issues, but this is game breaking for me....

One thought I had was that my system is not up to spec, however it seems to exceed the Minimum requirements for the game....

Current PC specs:

Windows Vista 32bit

Intel® Core2 Duo CPU E7300  @ 2.66GHz

4MB RAM

NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT 1GB

Any help from anyone would be appreciated.....

Your specs look acceptable.

May be a vista issue, but i'm just biased against Vista/ME... ;)

9600GT 1GB should perform acceptably, but as i've been out of the tech game for some time... is that a relatively old card? 1-2yr?  Could be an issue here, or conflict with program.

Do you have this issue or similar with other programs?  Which programs if yes?

Are your drivers up to date?

Have you tried running everything in lowest possible GFX settings?  see if  this helps then scale up until you break it.

I'd get rid of that Vista and try to boot W7 or Linux. Your specs are above minimum, however I wouldn't expect much life. Is it a constant crash to desktop now or just here and there?

Hey Sachiel, the video card is a bit old but the drivers are up to date. Dropped all the graphics to the lowest possible settings, but no luck...No other issues with other games or programs....

Yo emigrates, didnt think the OS may have something to do with it...crash is constant, sometimes 2 secs after I join a server, sometimes 5-10 minutes, but always a crash to desktop....

Will see if I can convince the boss to go with an entire upgarde to my PC.....wish me luck!!!

Check your Event Viewer. There should at least be a hint why a certain application crashed.

( In case you dont know: You'll find the event viewer within the administrative tools in your control panel )

So many different ways a PC can crush tbh fella, just a matter of rulling them out - however Vista is a very demanding OS. A demanding OS + demanding game = unhappy computers.

This. Also, "Up to date drivers" + kinda ancient OS + game far away from optimization will least likey end up in a nice gaming experience.
