Very hard/impossible to join servers or stay in servers

Hi hope someone can help...

I use dayz commander, ccg laucher and the games built in search, its on steam and win7. I have tried reinstall and many cache verifications through steam as well as common fixes around forums/google.

The problem is when I join any server (dayz or epoch etc etc) through any method I get into the lobby, I hit join and the game file downloads/splash screen starts and finishes at 'recieving data' I get the 'no message recieved xx seconds' until I'm kicked. If I retry many times it might not happen once and I can play fine but its 1 in 20 then if I die same again, kicked for not responding at 'recieving data'.

Game worked fine for a year, didnt play for a few weeks and made no sw/hw changes, also might be worth noting when I verify the game cache of arma2 oa in steam after Ive tried to play it always downloads about 12mb the first time then 835kb the second time I run it???

I think a lot of servers restart at random times, not right on the hour, so hoppers don't know which one just got the loot refreshed.

 

sometimes I get lucky and can play forever before the reset, other times I get a reset less than a minute after I join.  just keep rejoining til you get lucky.

Its every time at the same point even when friends are already in the same server playing, I reinstalled again and would like to ask should arma 2 oa in steam be set as 'beta-' and what to set 'the' beta to the one that says 'obsolete' set this to 'opt out' in the beta tab?

This is probably due to the switch to steam, I see hundreds of people per day tryin to join my server using the wrong versions. DayZ Commander is a dead program for anyone that doesn't know yet and will be unusable any day now when BE pull support for non steam versions. My suggestion is to start using DayZ Launcher made by the same guy as CCG launcher (maca134) http://dayzlauncher.com/. Also in steam in the betas tab opt out of all betas and verify OA and A2 then run each one once after the verify finishes downloading. This will make sure you are on the correct current version (125548). On top of this there are issues with the steamid switch keeping people from joining sometimes and being stuck at loading screen but able to run around in game and hear themselves. There is a workaround for this but it has to be done by the servers dev/admin.

Really depressed now, cant play my favourite game :(

I tried what you said frostykush, I've now reinstalled oa twice, done the verify out of beta, in beta, in 1.62, I'm opening arma and oa everytime after, when start oa I'm on the proper version 25548 and dayz '1.8.1dev', I installed that launcher and even when I try the same version of server I get the same problem, when I downgrade and try commander (which some of my friends still use) I open oa to v12255 I'm allowed to join lobby and get exactly the same problem. When the server versions are wrong I get a different error so I'm sure its not that, I'm going to my parents today I'm going to lift my tower and try it on their internet/router as it does sound like the netgear router problem, only think is my router is a bt hh4 with little or no settings, standalone works fine, and the mod worked fine a few weeks ago so not holding out hope.

 

Just to clarify, I join any server by any means, as long as versions are same I get into lobby with no error, I click join, the loading screen comes up and the bar fills, then back to lobby/player screen and 'reciving data' bar fills then the yellow chainlink appears and be says 'no message recieved in xx seconds' over and over until I'm kicked. Only my friends see the 'Conor has been kicked by battleye, client not responding' message on thier screens..

Well this randomly stopped or wasn't that bad just after last post as in I could play on the 3rd-4th attempt at joining a server at worst but now its broke again last few days. BE has effectively broke my game, cant join any server, I'll get into my favourite ccg or europa but takes about an hour of trying/re-logging by which time I don't want to play just smash my keyboard.

If I bring my pc to another house it works perfect every time so BE just doesn't like my internet connection :( I know its not great in my area but I have to wonder every other mp game/antihack is fine eg ets, bf4 etc and Arma2 was fine on it for a year and even last month or so. I'll check for updates try again in time but for me for now no more Dayz. Thanks battleye :/

Have you found a fix? A couple of weeks ago it was working fine until I restarted my computer and now I'm getting this again.
