Lagg in big cities

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I Just bought a new PC to play dayz on all night and day, but now i got this problem:

- When i see allot of buildings my dayz starts to lagg.

My Specs:

i7-3370 k 4,2 ghz

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 770 4 GB DDR5

16 GB Ram, DDR3

120 GB SSD, 1 TB HDD.

- Special game cooling.

- Windows 7 ultimate.

- Video card is OC ( Factory overclocked )

I Can handle all games on the maximum settings, BF3-4 and WatchDogs.

But i can only set everything Max on DayZ and resolution to 100%.

When i try 200% It starts to lagg.

When i have 100% It only laggs in big cities.

I Hope that i can get some help/ an explanation.

Best regards, Raul.

a DayZ Player.

DayZ. Is. In. Alpha.

Has. Not. Been. Optimized. Yet.

Wait. Til. Beta. For. Optimization.

P.S.:

Why would you bother setting Res. Scaling to 200%?

what do you mean, "lag"?

Because you should be getting anywhere from 20-30 FPS with that rig...

I would predict more, but DayZ has terrible hardware scaling due to the lack of support for modern technology.

OP sounds like with your specs that you are suffering from Microsoft's pathetic attempts to save you some power. do some research on the web concerning "CPU Parking" - I would recommend the fix from Microsoft as there are a lot of little programs available for free to "fix" this issue and we all know how that can go... having said all that you should also have a look at this handy little guide. http://www.reddit.com/r/dayz/comments/28cla2/dayz_sa_frame_optimization_launch_options_fov/

It was a sarcastic phrase basically stating he should not be experiencing lag with his rig.

For lols, tell me your definition of lag.

I thought that lag is because bad internet connection.

Maybe you mean low FPS stutter?

Anyway google CPU core unparking, check the guide that Elle posted and also put object details on normal.

Just to clear this up, lag is the GPU failing to maintain a 1:1 refresh timing with the screen.

The screen refreshes on a set speed and never changes. It goes like so: tick.tick.tick.tick.tick.tick.tick.tick. and so on and so forth

The GPU however, it's render speed can be affected by what it is rendering. If the frame it is trying to render is very complex, and contains lots of events, effects, etc, the GPU may take longer to render out the scene. It may render like so: tick..tick.tick......tick.tick...tick..tick...tick.tick

And when the render and refresh speed don't line up, it looks like this:

tick.tick.tick.tick.tick.tick.tick.tick.tick.tick.tick.tick.tick.

tick..tick.tick...tick.....tick..tick..tick.tick.tick.....tick.tick..tick

As you can see, some render and refresh speeds line up, while others do not. When this happens it skips the frame. This cause what we know as lag.

A skip / pause in Server > Client is know as Desync and / or Lerp.

I have 16 ping and 150 mbps upload/download on a wire

This doesn't effect frames per second.

What kind of lag do you mean?
