Passive stats

Recommended Posts

Who gives a shit? That's the kind of game it should be, the playerbase is a mess virtually every online playerbase is a mess even Minecraft is just full of uncooperative douchebags...

What would be bad about DayZ being different from the typical mentality?

It makes it an original game, currently it's not.

Who gives a shit what some give me perks so I can be better than others random guy wants ?

You bitch that this game is a PvP CoD style, well guess fucking what, so are fucking perks and stats. If you don't like that everyone is equal in terms of in game abilities and the only thing that makes you better is your real life skills than stop playing this game. Stop trying to ruin it with I can reload faster, pull my gun out faster or run more because I don't have a fucking life and can put 500 hours into the game.

There's no learning element in this game your character can do absolutely everything, no accidentally putting mags in wrong or slow or dropping rounds for rifles or putting bandages on too tight it's like while they were adrift at sea or whatever they had access to Googles wealth of knowledge and learnt all the things.

You're approaching from the wrong side. Right now they player who sits on his chair can learn how to shoot and will get better with time. You try to cover this with ingame mechanics, because you think of bandages and other things. And you're right with this.

Right now, the only thing you (the real you) can learn is shooting. Therefore I hope for minigame-like mechanics for everything. Need to apply a bandage? Take it into your hands, "use" it and then you've to wrap it around your arm with your mouse or whatever. Or you've to drag and drop every bullet into your magazine and then pull the magazine with the right side into your weapon. Using your mouse.

Sadly, it will never happen. Even if they are good enough to programm it, too many people would cry.

Maybe thing like dropping less food when opening with something else than a can opener, or slightly faster bandaging could be implemented, but nothing that affects movement and combat. Some guy will join empty server put something on his W key ale leave his char running for hours maxing out his stamina. Yup no way to exploit hidden stat system. Guys own a server ? Lock it, spent whole day firing guns, get better accuracy, lower reccoil, faster draw. See the problems this creates ?

Accuracy would still be based on the ability to aim. That would still rely on twitch gameplay. Firearms skill would only effect things like reload speed and possibly held breath.

And further more firearms would only go up if you hit someone.

And and I see your point as well. I'd really be mostly interested in survival skills vs combat skills.

Still could be farmed between friends and on private servers. And like I said, not a single combat improvement should be implemented.

I'd be fine with that, and I'm sure as we move forward in development a great many things will come to pass that make this concept obsolete which I'm fine with. From what I hear exp has already improved the combat mechanics.

One edition I'm not to happy about though I may be misinformed is that .47 forces you to "shoulder" your primary to sprint? Which I dislike slow me down while sprinting a bit maybe but don't force my weapon to my back. And make me "bring it back to ready" that's fine, I don't mind having to hit space at the end of a sprint to "ready" my rifle.

In a places where you want to have your gun out you shouldn't be sprinting anyway. Move slowly, keep low profile and have your gun ready.

Agreed, but it still doesn't make sense lets say I come under fire and have to dash into a building I wouldn't take the time to sling a rifle over my shoulder I'd dash for cover

In what way does that create a problem that doesn't really exist now? Admins already spawn gear for themselves, they'll always be bitches. Also accuracy should go up with confirmed hits on anything living not just shooting anywhere.

Admins will always be a problem with everything, no reason not to include passive stats it would improve the gameplay for everyone who doesn't play with asshole Admins like that. Plus it should take 100's of hours not like kill 10 zombies and aim perfectly, not like it would be easy for even Admins to spam.

And the W thing, when stamina is incorporated they're not going to be able to run forever anyway once they reverted to jogging it wouldn't do much.

Assuming they don't just get stuck at a wall or something, name a stretch of land so long they could run for hours anyway...

Maybe if they hacked a treadmill in.

Also who said anything about perks?

All I want is stats really but a starting benefit for a profession would be cool so long as everyone could hit the max regardless of benefit chosen. But that I'm not to bothered about just some kind of progression so it takes skill and planning to kill people not just hold shoot and swing the cursor about = win

Accuracy should never improve with a stat that's not how real life works however incorporating attachments for weapons does.

Also any stat system has an exploit (for example in oblivion hop on a rafter rubber band te remote free sneak) it's never perfect it will/would be exploited but all it takes is a bullet to the skull piece to erase a hundred hours of exploitation!

My idea and even I agree there should be separate servers/characters for this. The idea is to broaden the player base not confine it.

Anyway back to the bar real life = > Dayz lol
