I couldn't figure out any decent search words for this so I had to start a new topic. So yeah, I spawned to a same server again and see my own character sitting next to me? I know it's common, but what should I do now?

no. Clans do the "beat him unconscious - wait for him to get conscious - wait for him to log out - take his gear"-GLITCH !

there is one glitch where u duplicate your char getting a "unknown entity" and one where u take gear in the process of the log out Animation! this is common knowloedge and can easily be discovered by playing the game for like 10 hours!

Got the same bug, killed myself and got more loot. After running for a while I crapped myself thinking if I logged out or the server restarted again would I be dead or alive. I am alive for anyone who was concerned.

I've duped myself couple of times. Usually this happens to me when I try to login and in the "Please wait" screen my DayZ client crashes. Ofcourse killing your dopplegänger will earn you all the stuff you had when you last time logged out.

EDIT: In case anyone tries to deliberatly dupe yourself with this technique, I hate to break it to you but it doesn't work always.

Wait for it to log out after 30 seconds. If it doesn't disappear, kill it and take all the loot. Don't do that again. It's bad for the economy.

Imo this is the single biggest issue in DayZ right now, I'd estimate between 25%-50% of players do this on a regular basis. The day this finally gets fixed you'll see a LOT less fully geared guys running around and people will be a lot less aggressive. You'll also stop hearing some dude with seemingly endless grenades blowing up Berezino.

Last time I was in Berezino it was the gas station nearby that was clearly being shot up as it kept going up in a fireball.
