Recommended Posts

Hi All

I have just downloaded Dayz and now concerned as it runs slow and laggy when graphics are high and amazing when graphics are crap !!!!

I dont know if its the graphics card or my system

Windows 7 SP1

Intel Pentium D Cpu 3.40ghz   3.99ghz

RAM 4GB ( 3GB Usable)

System type 32 bit

NVIDIA Geforce 210

If all that is ok then what should my setting be on !

Please Help :(

Turn off clouds.

Ensure aspect ratio (in interface settings) matches your monitor, then ensure the 3d rendering matches your aspect ratio (requires game restart).

Remeber it's a horrible unoptimised alpha, and that people with $2000 gaming rigs still suffer poor performance in DayZ.

GLHF

(or take a look at suggestions here:

Count your blessings, I'm surprised it runs at all on that, if you're getting a smooth experience even on minimum quality, you're lucky.

You probably can, but it will be an awful experience. There are too many controls to map to a pad, plus it's just not set up (yet, maybe never will be) for use on a Pad.

I run:

i5-3570K Ivy Bridge Quad-Core 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo)
GeForce GTX 650 Ti 2GB 128-Bit GDDR5

... and sometimes I still lag a little in cities. I'll note that when I fire up task manager I'm often surprised by the amount of CPU that's being utilized by DayZ (usually 40%-50% of all 4 cores). When the game gets better optimized and the new engine is more complete I have to imagine more of that processing will get pushed from the CPU into the GPU.
