Hardcore settings?

OK a couple of times I have accidentally spawned into a hardcore server. Besides spawning with a crowbar and a zombie in your face, what are the differences, and do you prefer hardcore or regular? Is hardcore more PvP than normal servers?

At the moment the only difference is that in HC you're locked to a 1st person view.

I prefer hardcore, because 3rd person view has always been a bad idea imho.

The immersion and tension you get in 1st person view, is unlike anything else, and its just not there in regular.

 

Im not gonna tell you what to do, but you should at least try it :)

I am definitely going to try it now, 3rd person seems like a cheat, though I must admit I switch to it to kill zombies with a melee.

It takes some getting used to, thats for sure.

 

But i wont go as far as calling 3rd a cheat, more of a easily exploited view, which i really dont like.

I want people to expose them selves, if they are to look out windows, over rooftops and over walls :)

I have never used 3rd person view.  It eliminates tension in a game that is enjoyable.... because of the tension.  That's like buying an F1 to drive and putting a governor on the engine.  Why bother playing at that point?

I played HC only for weeks now.

Short time ago I played regular and it was terrible to play in 3rd pers view. I will stay HC! ;)

I just wish everyone was forced to play hardcore so the hc servers would be more populated... :|

I play on 3pp servers for fun and giggles / switch to HC when i wanna play for the real DayZ experience...
