WILLYumD 0 Posted July 11, 2014 Yes, DayZ is in Alpha but there are so many different rigs and configurations, so I wonder if anyone has smooth gameplay.By smooth, I mean a constant 60fps+ with little/no stutter (don't really see stutter in DayZ, just low frames).I currently have 60+ when I look at walls, the ground, the sky; but looking at cities or just head level is a big killer of fps. This is a widespread problem, but maybe someone doesn't have them.
Mystic Bagel 128 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) My gameplay is smooth, I haven't tested my FPS but I have NEVER had any issues in ANY of the locationsMy issues, when I have them, seem to have been ALL server related. I haven't crossfired my board yet - did you find a big frame increase when you did? Might buy another graphics card. I get some minus 30fps in certain city locations as most do but the rest of the time im around 60 no problem. I'm onAMD Phenom II quadcore @ 3.9GHz790GX motherboardXFX HD7870 2GB 8GB RAMWin 7 Ultimate OP you've got 120 840 evo in your sig, I've just installed one of those to my system and have put DayZ onto it - haven't been on DayZ since tho. Did you find it much faster with it on your SSD? (If it is.) Edited July 11, 2014 by Richard III in Leicester
n1kko 326 Posted July 11, 2014 I'm running some nostalgic old hardware, and I get a constant 70-80 in fields and forests, and around 40-50 in towns with the occasional stutter, but I think thats just my GPU being old and worn, I don't think its a game issue. Also, I run med-high settings at 1920x1080i7 2630 QM @2.6GTX 460M8GB RAMWin7 Ultimate.

Did you find it much faster with it on your SSD? (If it is.)#1: Incorrect. AMD's single-core performance (the judge of your DayZ performance) is very inefficient. #2: Buying another GPU for DayZ is worthless and won't provide any performance increase. #3: SSD does NOT increase your FPS at ALL! It will decrease the time it takes you to load objects in (about 10 seconds with a fairly decent HDD), but afterwards it has no effect.
