hawc 63 Posted June 29, 2012 What is the difference between the steam and retail?
chrispowdrill@yahoo.co.uk 10 Posted June 29, 2012 What is the difference between the steam and retail?Nothing really except with steam you can have the steam overlay on and google dayzmod map so you never need to find a map just press shift and tab to see it
boneboys 7988 Posted June 29, 2012 Offical patches are more user friendly for retail than Steam and are usually available before Steam updates the game (a few days). That may change tho.If you download from Sprocket you can burn to disk.Lets face it, Steam users have more problems than most, for new users at least.I have bought one BIS game on Steam, ToH.Apart from that, no difference. zombie3000@hotmail.co.uk 27 Posted June 29, 2012 Gah i just paid £20 direct from BIS earlier this week but it links to Steam. For some reason Steam were still selling combined ops at £25...
shiromikan 217 Posted June 29, 2012 It appears that BI don't wish to give it's cut to steam with reduced prices, so the sale is only on the site. They just give you a Steam CD Key if you buy the steam version through their site. (So you'd activate on Steam like normal.)Unrelated, Boneboys... How is ToH? I've been looking at it for a while. hawc 63 Posted June 29, 2012 Do you think the prices will drop further? i heard that last year CO was 10€ on steam.
chrispow 3 Posted June 29, 2012 Do you think the prices will drop further? i heard that last year CO was 10€ on steam.Unlikely. It would be dumb to do a sale while it's still hot. When the sales die down, I'm sure they will.
