Strange occasional FPS drop

Recommended Posts

So, I've had my gaming rig for about 3 days now, and I've had dayz since. I've been getting occasional FPS drops out of nowhere.

Mind you, this is ANYWHERE, no matter where I am, so its not a rendering issue. It just happens. I might be on a road somewhere and I'm looking around, and then FPS drop for 2 seconds, maybe 3. Then it goes away.

I can run DayZ at least at 40 fps+, so I don't know what the problem is. Certain settings are on low, and my video memory is set at 2048 MB.

Specs:

Intel i7-4770k @ 3.5 GHz + 10% OC

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 2GB EVGA OC

16 GB RAM

ASRock F4tality Z97 Motherboard

Any ideas as to what's happening? Most of the time, these FPS drops don't bother me, but I've recently started noticing them, and they're quite annoying if I'm trying to aim at a zombie and shoot it, or when I'm moving around.

I've noticed that DayZ doesn't use anywhere near 100% of my GPU potential, often using just 30% of it. Quite annoying at times, but  hey. I'm sure it'll get fixed.
