Modular Helmet

The MICH helmet (Kevlar helmet) should be modular as it is in real life. You should be able to wear a gas mask with it and mount the head mounted flashlight or PVS-14 ( The NVG,Which is due for release soon as it is in the game files). I know the Gas mask in game had clipping issues, however I think it did not warrant non compatibility. I can post images of the PVS-14 mounting bracket for the MICH if anyone is interested on how it clamps on the helmet.

I don't get why we can't put the gas mask with the military helmet, i don't really see soldier drop helmet in combat zone just for a gas mask, we definitely DO be able to wear gas mask + helmet, i have a WW2 full head gas mask and i can wear it with any head gear such as hat, helmet, hood and others stuff, and true it won't affect the frontal slot for the helmet !

And yeah helmet with NVG/light miss so bad, we have one on Arma 3, modular headgear.

I don't want any American helmets. It's bad enough there's the ugly ballistic helmets.

THESE are what should be added:

 

K6-3 Russian special forces helmet

 

100% more cool looking than anything the Americans have ever made and 100% more realistic in a post-soviet country

I like those Russian Helmets, but having both is a good move as the Western helmet could be modular and the Russian Cylon Helmet provide %100 protection of the head.

American helmets sort of make sense, the CDF in ArmA II were equipped with old PASGT helmets but that said I would prefer if chernarus was kept as close to an eastern european/russian state as possible

I hope the current Western helmets (and items like assault vests) are placeholders for Russian/Soviet counterparts. I would like to see both old-fashioned steel helmets like the Ssh-68 and the more modern ones like the Sphera or Altyn. The latter ones would be hard to come by, of course. Tanker caps would be neat, too.

For cosmetic purposes, I would like it if I could add the tactical goggles soon to be added on top of my helmet. Not exactly the modular aspect you were talking about, but still.

 

Also, we really need helmets for armies that actually make sense in Chernarus. The USMC's LWH, PASGT for Chernarussian soldiers, various soviet and russian helmets, caps, hoods, etc.

 

Oh, and plz giev tanker hats.

Goggles would be a good idea. No in game effect, just flavor material. Russian Helmets seem to not have accessories sans helmet covers and googles, but some over more protection than their western helmet. I also would love to see both Russian Tanker helmets and Western Armor Crewmen helmets.

I thought it was an established background fact that there was a NATO operation in Chernarus including at least US soldiers. Obviously and realistically these should use their own helmets and those are MICH and ACH. Of course it also means those kind of equipment should be limited in the same way as NATO weaponry which as of now is helicopter crash only.

 

Also thanks for providing the name of that helmet - yes it should definitely be added and probably be more common than NATO helmets.

agreed but what function has the gasmask atm in dayz? or will it get later on? cause im still confused about that
