Footsteps should be louder

Recommended Posts

Yesterday I crouch walked up the stairs in an air control tower. I think the ear showed two lines. When I reach the middle floor there's a guy there completely oblivious. Of course, now that I have found my calling (http://dayzmod.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=22079), I shot him with two bursts in the back, but my point is that he should have heard me. Someone with big fucking boots should not be inaudible, especially indoors. Also, make running through bushes in the forest give off more sound...

Because i am a frigging weirdo i actually crouch ran in the grass and along a road (in the rain)...in real life on my street.

The thing was i was actually louder in the squelchy grass than on the road.

Louder? No.

With my volume even at moderate settings I still sound like I'm walking around with a couple of paint can lids strapped to my feet.

Maybe you should ask instead to hear footsteps to be heard (by other players) from a longer distance away. Footsteps currently sound like shit, are twice as loud as they need to be and I really dont want those shit sound files crunching through my speakers even louder than they already are.

With my volume as loud as it is, it sounds like everyone is dragging their feet through leaves, mud and branches. I have almost no issue hearing them running around, or even wiggling in the prone position.

But realize that tapping 'W' makes little to no sound for yourself and others, though it is slow. Also, some people play with the volume turned off, or listen to music, watch TV in the background, etc. Why? I don't know. I like to pay attention to even the slightest noises, to know what is around me and what is coming. Guess I'm wierd like that.
