Authentication Timeout

Recommended Posts

Every server I join this happens. I get in-game and start doing what I do for about 20 seconds before I get kicked with a message saying "Authentication Timeout." I did just finish fixing an issue with Arma 2 OA however I don't think it's related. I just really can't seem to get this game to work after it broke a couple of months ago, but prior to that I've played for years! I've heard that apparently I have to wait for the 1.8.2 update to be realeased. Is there any possible way I can get this fixed prior?

Thanks a bunch!--

CaptLobster

Make sure you're running the latest ARMA 2 OA Patch and that the server is running that exact version as well. I heard that his occurs when you're not running the most uptodate patch of ARMA 2 OA.

I'm running it from steam with the Beta- Slected for Arma 2 OA and Beta- 8.1 for DayZ Mod. I've tried running it from DayZ commander and from steam, however it always results in the same ending.

I had the exact same issue today. Could play for about 1 minute then kick.

Deleted all the lokal files in steam (for Arma 2, Arma 2 OA and Arma 2 OA Beta)

1. Downloaded and installed Arma 2 ==> Started the game and a mission

2. Downloaded and installed Arma 2 OA ==> Started the game and a mission

3. Patched Arma 2 via Dayz Commander

4. Installed DayZ via Dayz Commander and every thing worked again.

hope it helps

Didn't do anything for me the first time I tried before making this thread, and didn't work after I tried it again (just now). Guess I'll just need to wait for either A: Some genius tells me how to fix this or B: The game updates.

Sorry for double posting, but it's an important question that might be a huge clue to solving my issue.

When you run Arma 2 OA (or DayZ) is there supposed to be a command prompt windows that opens up for a split second and then closes before the game starts? I don't know what it says because it goes away so fast.
