A funny encounter at the new North East Airfield.

So, there I was, running into the ATC tower at the newly remodeled North East Airfield, when suddenly, I see a dead body on the stairs. Naturally, I carefully look up the stairs, and what do I see but a player in full military gear, camping the stairs with SKS in hand, waiting for the next unlucky sucker to go for a loot trip. Being the fast thinker that I am, I immediately yelled "I don't want to die", and ran the heck outta there!

I got as far as Krasnostav before I realized I could not let such activities go unpunished. I turned around, ran to the airfield, and I crawled to the ladder on the back. As I step on the roof, I realize I did not chamber a round in my sporter (which was my one and only gun at the time). However, if I did so up there, the camper would hear me reloading. I decided I had to do it anyway, so after I got eyes on him, I reloaded. He immediately started looking around, and for a moment I was afraid he'd move upstairs and find me. Luckily, that didn't happen. He moved half-way down the stairs, so that he could watch both the door, and the stairs coming from the roof.

 

"Shit", I thought to myself. "Now there's no way I can punish him!". But, after sitting there in silence for 4-6 minutes, he moved back up, and I could sneak down without him seeing me. I made my way down the stairs, stopping to get a shot through the steps, and then he started turning around slowly. Just as I got within his field of vision, I popped of a shot and hit him straight in the eye, successfully knocking him out, but not killing him. 

After switching all his gear with my own, I bandaged him, and left him there. I had no reason to kill him, as I could easily get out of there before he woke up. 
So, here I am now, all geared up, while the camper has to start over. Well, maybe not from scratch. I hope you enjoy my sporter, wherever you are! :)

Yes, I've had random gun sounds when no one is around to shoot. It scares me, and I check the ammo count in my gun to see if I accidentally fired. I didn't. Dang sound bugs.

I ran into that same guy or someone like him camping in that same building. I'm a noob just experimenting, so I climbed to the roof of the tower and he runs in below me.  As I descebded the ladder I spotted him and ran back up.  Missing a point blank kill he starts trying to talk to me - I would have given him all my loot to work with him for a while to LEARN, so I descended with my gun away.  My mic was off at the time so I tried hand signals but wouldn't you know, I hit the FU finger by accident.  lolz., bang I was dead.  I think he would have killed me anyway, but the finger likely sealed the deal.

 

I like dieing in this game for some reason, and starting from scratch.  I can't explain it.

Nothing to learn from these guys....camp in a position with very few entrances (one of which is a ladder and most dayz players see ladders as death) and then shoot anyone who comes in....

 

The camper has all the advantages:

 

1. No weapon sway

2. Limited area to guard

3. The ATC has military loot which attracts players like honey does bears

4. For NEAF the entrance to the ATC is mainly obstructed by a building right next to it so a sniper cannot flush him out from Long Range very easily.(assuming he camps the first floor)

5. if on the second floor the games clunky movement interface slows the player down as he comes upstairs making him an easy target for the camper.

Seeing as it's pretty much the only thing to do in this game at the moment, (except for pvp, if you like that stuff,) I agree with you. After a while, it's just good to start over again, you know?
