gibonez 3633 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) Is not hunting, it is not new weapons it is not new content at all. The single best thing to be added in the past few months is the new weapon dexterity system. While it needs some tweaking and refinement it is already a pretty awesome addition to the game it makes it so the game does not turn into a twitch shooter and really gives the weapons that weighty feel that most games lack. This also opens the doors for the accessories to have more value other than just dispersion changer. Heavy accessories like drum mags or steel rails could make the weapon swing slower . This also gives lighter simpler weapons far more versatility, A pistol or a smg will now be exponentially better at clearing out a house compared to a big heavy mosin or a fully kitted out akm. It is always these little tiny additions that make the game so much better. Edited June 29, 2014 by gibonez

It would have to be marginally so, but it would give an incentive to look for one, or use an AMD-65 over an AKM.

I love the way some of the heavier guns feel when swinging them around almost makes you put more though and effort before you fire off a shot. Gone are the days of just mindlessly shooting.
Zedertone 378 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) The little things are what makes the game is what I've always thought, ever since playing games on the ps1. I always remembered the hitman games for that for some reason. Edited June 29, 2014 by Zedertone
qww 287 Posted June 29, 2014 foregrip could allow to move slightly faster when spacebar pressed so rifle is aimed, or sighted/scoped view, so of course suitable for more close quarters engagements, hopefully less for long range too.and if a similar value was added with the cq buttstock.no boost or penalty for dispersion, just movement change. The tiny and often easy to add details that are realistic and authentic always do it for me.Tiny things like Different animations for each weapon looking authenticAnimations for accessing your backpackSmoothly blending the animationsThese otherwise tiny touches always do it for me. I hope they add this weighty feel to the player movement too would be amazing for dayz to have a sense of player weight when moving around the game. Momentum and weight .

gibonez 3633 Posted June 29, 2014 I haven't been playing for a while. Is there some YT video or an article that demonstrates what this thread is about? You really cant see it in videos. you really gotta try it out for yourself. Swinging your mouse around leads to your gun catching up to your eyes cant really be seen in videos but can be felt in game.
TheWanderingMan 170 Posted June 29, 2014 Z's are still broken but it's ok because we have flat caps and wool coats.

However, not enough to get me playing again - waiting for zombie pathfinding, loot respawn, 64-bit servers, new renderer and especially better netcode so that other players do not slide around through walls and hits not taking 1-2 seconds to register. I guess I'm going to wait for a long time :D
gibonez 3633 Posted June 29, 2014 Looks like the weapon weight thing is in the new free dlc for arma 3. Awesome that dayz and arma 3 dev teams share resources and ideas. Lets hope that stamina system from arma 3 makes its way to dayz too. Also the marksman DLC is reported to completely change the sniping in the game fingers crossed for bipod deployment and weapon deployment on objects and no more silly 100m elevation adjustments. I hope they bring forth real true to life angular measurement elevation adjustment on scopes.
attackm0de 38 Posted June 29, 2014 (edited) The sway definitely needs tweaking.. I like the idea, its just hard to look through the scope without feeling ill. Edited June 29, 2014 by Attackm0de
gibonez 3633 Posted June 29, 2014 The sway definitely needs tweaking.. I like the idea, its just hard to look through the scope without feeling ill. I think its pretty spot on right now. If they remove the erratic jittering I think its darn perfect the test now is to see if adding accessories increases this sluggishness or if its tied to weapons not total weapon weight. hombrecz 832 Posted June 30, 2014 It's good to It is always these little tiny additions that make the game so much better. It's good to see you getting a bit more optimistic Gibonez. For me, the best thing added to DayZ SA could be one of those: 1. client optimalisation so that we can have good (40+) FPS in cities2. fixed zombies, so that they do not ignore walls, do not see you over 300m, are a lot more numerous and dangerous as well.3. weapons do not have that much of random dispersion. Also if dmg is tweaked so that pistols do not require 5+ body shots to kill, shotgun kills in 1 shot point blank etc4. loot respawn mechanic is added, so that there is fewer items in total, but they respawn without server restart, allowing for some quality gameplay even after server is up for hours.
