Does it run on windows 8?

Hi guys,

 

I just bought the game (using windows 8 i7 laptop, nvdia GT 720M), unfortuantly when i start it it starts in really fucked up grapichs (unreadable text) then i press i understand (also unreadable) then i get in a messed up menu where my mouse doesnt work, cant read a thing..

I tried the game on my pc and it works fine runs windows 7 with a cheapass grapich card etc  so that doesnt make sense. My laptop has way better performance.

 

please suggestions, im looking really forward to play this.

I had the same issue. Change the UI resolution in the in game menu to adjust to your computer. Works like a charm now.

Win8 have some bugs in games not using raw mouse input, update for free to 8.1 ( also win8 isnt anymore supported ), and update drivers also, if this still dont fix it delete the files in your dayz files documents ( should be 3 cfg in there ).

As dinosaurlegs sayd it may be just the cfg screwed, as first try do the cfg cleanup but i suggest to update win too, its free.

Do you mean changing resolution in game or on the pc? Trying to do anything in game is a real pain, since i have no mouse response and everything is unreadable.. after 20min of patience i get to the resolution part doesnt change anything.. Also im already updated to windows 8.1/ drivers. Does it have anything to do with the fact im playing on 15 inch laptop?

I'm playing DayZ fine on Win8.1, 64bit, also with an i7quad and a GT740M. Never had problems with that particular game, really.

I changed the resolution at the nvidia game panel + with lettingit start in windowed mode it worked fine for me!

Have you any problems with the Nvidia card?  Mine's been a nightmare.  You got it running via DVI?

It even runs with Windows 8.1 x64.

For me the fix was in the NVIDIA GeForce Experience panal (for me always openend and accesable right corner, little pullout menu.

 

It shows all the games installed on the pc and its settings. So what i did was change the game resolution (tried a couple) and let the game start in windowed mode. Works perfectly fine now.
