Are there any hardcore servers out there with proper day / night cycle and restarts not set to 2h? Any info appreciated, thanks.

One night I was plying and literally hit 4 servers in a row who reset within 10 mins at a time. Was like ground hog day...spawn loot the same three buildings...no message received.

Dolina trading pot has accelerated time u get day and night within 1 hour. It is fun to watch...night hits 90% people leave then 30 mins everyone come back.

I sometimes sit outaide NWAF wait for night to hit and run in and loot it better day comes and everyone comes bac ;)

Imo loot respawns should be devs number 1 priority

I find that happening to me too. You like how it gives you the 99 second re-spawn on the next server? ugh...

Restarts are necessary because of the lag that starts to occur after 4 hours from restart.  Also loot doesnt respawn because good game.

Night servers are pointless.  The idea is awesome, it looks awesome fumbling around in the dark but at the end of the day, gamma exploiters will just make you gaming experience shit.

Lol. I don't get these people having issues with night time. My brightness and gamma are at default and I have no issue seeing. My monitor brightness is not very high at all and I am just running on a normal laptop... and I can see fine. 

 

Night is the best. It's part of the game, in my opinion, and it should be unavoidable. Possible sped up (12 hour day... 6 of dark, 6 of light) but not done away with. People need to stop complaining and realize that they are playing a game that is meant to be somewhat "hardcore" or at least difficult from a survival stand-point. Ugh.

 

Edit: And guess what... in a place with very little to no street lights, etc., (Chernarus during the apocalypse) night time would be damn near pitch black! I'm not one for making games as realistic as possible, because I don't play games to experience real life all over again, but for a game like DayZ, I think it should be realistic in that way. Just my opinion, I respect yours and understand your point completely.

There are no 6hr or 8hr restarts and cannot be because again, all servers will restart automatically at 4hrs.

 

Also, currently night is not pitch black and brighter than it used to be. People seem to just want an excuse to not play at night because it's much easier to play on a 24/7 Day server.

I suppose I'm weird in that I simply don't have an issue with that. I don't give a shit if there are other players with an advantage that is upping some video settings to see better. I still enjoy nighttime and I still believe it to be part of DayZ. I'm going to keep my brightness where it is (default) and enjoy the game.

 

In all fairness and honesty, I am one of those guys that doesn't get mad when he gets KoS'd and looses everything. I love unfair challenges. So maybe I really am weird. But nighttime is necessary, and we at least have to agree that it's annoying to see thousands upon thousands (possible exaggeration) of "24/7 day!" servers, and hardly any true day/night servers (or at least as close as possible in the SA).

Hell, I was just playing at 12am in-game-time and it was nice and bright. Especially, provided a full moon. Nobody is ever wrong in their opinion, but this whole anti-night thing is getting old.

A lot of people have said that the reason they use the gamma/brightness thing is because they can't see, well now they can. Will some people still use it, fuck yeah they will but if we sit here and say that there are more exploiters out there than legit people I think that's just being paranoid. We certainly can't say it's fact.

 

I'd like to think there are a lot more people out there, like a few of us in this thread that don't use the gamma thing regardless of others. Well, at least enough to fill a few servers. Yeah?   ;)

yes, me and my friends would like to play night, i personally dont use that gamma shit, it makes the game look awful black and white and horrible contrast, obviously as a graphics whore i like to be immersed into my zombie apocalypse, i didnt pay £1000 to sit and look at a bright white bullshit screen for some lame advantage. I dont put my games on 'low' to get advantage either, i play on max settings as I can...I always carry a lantern./head torch/ pistol light.

I think Caboose is over the top and winding us up, but you are right not everyone is a dickhead. Maybe another thing for private servers with trusted friends which is a shame, because the day z public will use every glitch or advantage they can.

I don't change my gamma or brightness. I wonder why? Maybe because I don't let other players "ruin my gaming experience".

a very SMALL handful may go "No i refuse to play in grayscale because spirit of the game" blah blah blah. as long as a large amount of people still use gama/brightness (or are preseumed to be using it) then most players will also jack thiers up to "even the playing field".

I guess we just have to agree to disagree because I have a little more faith in people than most. As well as now that you can actually see, people have little point to use the gamma except to be a douchebag.

 

For me, I hope by not using it as well as anyone I know(personally) who plays or is an Admin on my server is not using it then we lead by example. If I can somehow make a silent rule by setting this example then at least I know I'm doing the right thing.

 

If supposedly almost everyone you know does it then they're part of the problem really. It's like saying I'm gonna go glitch into the jail at the NWAF because everyone does it but really, not everyone does it. It's a small minority that does. Or "If everyone jumps off a bridge..."
