Two very different but valid requests!

Just wanted some opinions on these two things I'd love to see implemented. The first is a leg holster for sidearms; standard military gear. It'd free up bag space (which some would frown upon) but not often do you see military personnel carrying a sidearm in a backpack or, as in Day Z, a chest holster. The second would be for some noise to be made when doors are opened. Maybe add a system where you can either open a door quick and noisily or slowly and quietly? I was thinking about this when I was reading about how they plan to add in the ability to board up windows and such as their first phase of "base-building". Imagine having invested all this time into gathering materials to board up your pick of housing when you randomly get popped by a ninja who has mastered the art of silently opening doors. Thoughts? Feel free to flame me lol.

Door opening should have a random chance of a noise, the same goes for opening car boot/trunk. It would add a frisson when moving house to house and trying to avoid making any noise. Also in the wind an open door should also have a chance of slamming shut.

There are caveats to this of course; one of these would be that the sounds need a massive overhaul. For a survival game the sounds should be a key asset to you, yet just now it's more an after thought. The other caveat is that the interactions will be looked at some time in the future, so the middle mouse wheel may be removed to be replaced with a contextual action. This, if done right, could allow the player to use a differing level of force when opening doors (think Amnesia) so you can either slam them open to create a level of surprise or slowly ease them open to avoid making any noise.

I've just always found the lack of noise strange but it's been this way since the mod so I'm used to it. The sounds, like ricp said, should be a key asset. They're integral to a true survival experience.
