UltimateGentleman 355 Posted June 27, 2014 So recently I took a trip to an island and got soaking wet in the water, OH NO well not really since that doesn't do anything yet but presumably being soaked will mean you can get a cold or hypothermia etc, which would suck. So what about a plastic sheet or a bag that you can put your gear in and tie to yourself to keep it dry while you swim? There are plenty of things you don't want to get wet in the game, matches, bandages/rags etc etc so I think it would be a good addition, not sure what other uses it has people are welcome to suggest. The islands and any more they add will probably become popular locations for clans once boats are introduced so we need a way to swim over and be sneaky without being debilitated by soaking gear or just for sheer exploration value. SFRGaming 718 Posted June 27, 2014 Maybe, but it could be a useless addition. We already have protector cases, and it should pretty much do the same exact thing. Putting all of your water-perishable items in the protector cases and any other Item that wouldn't be affected by water should be fine in your pockets. Generally speaking the game could do with more storage related items, the Protector case for me has always been that case you use if you EXPECT to get damaged (which you invariably will) but it would be nice just to have a plastic container which can be used to protect your items from becoming wet. Hell even if it was just a resealable plastic bag which could be used to protect small items (like matches, rags etc)
doctajones 123 Posted June 27, 2014 If items become water perishable, I think dry bags would indeed be a good addition. As a scuba diver I have dry bags of various sizes (not for diving, but more so for the boat) to keep cameras, phones, clothes, etc. You could have a vertical 1x2 that holds 1x3, or hell even holding its own size, but keeping it dry. What also would be cool is a dry backpack, maybe small like the courier bag but everything is safe from water. Yes we already have protector cases, but I think a little variety would be cool. Some bags that aren't the standard 2x2 like protector cases and medical kits would be nice.

Yeah considering protector cases would be heavy I don't think they should be the only option when they start making weight affect things plastic cover could be a godly item for rainy seasons too since you get soaking very quick. What if your fireplace kit got soaking? Protector cases are pretty rare I'd rather not have to server hop to have an inventory full of them it feels like cheating and frankly doesn't make sense, much like backpackception. Waterproof bags would be good, small one could have a row less slots than the standard backpack and then a large one could be the same as the hunting backpack or slightly smaller I think it'd be a great item. Maybe not right now exactly but in future when everything else is set up they'd definitely be helpful.

KiskilleAcronym 43 Posted June 28, 2014 So what about a plastic sheet or a bag that you can put your gear in and tie to yourself to keep it dry while you swim? Put a plastic gan over your head and go explore the ocean without getting your hair wet... (LOL)
UltimateGentleman 355 Posted June 28, 2014 Protector cases don't weigh that much....Considering they look metallic and would need to be to protect from bullets I would say they probably are. And having a whole bag full with stuff inside them would be very heavy, a plastic sheet stops so much unnecessary weight being needed.
