More clothing should be rippable.

So, I was frantically dashing around a large town near the coast for ~10 minutes as a relatively fresh spawn looking for clothing to tear into rags after being sneak-attacked by a silent zed. Found an absolutely ridiculous amount of pants, shorts, and other assorted legwear in countless residential buildings, but aside from the police jacket I was wearing and a coat, I couldn't find a single piece of upper-body clothing, much less anything I could use to bandage myself with. My police jacket looked like it could've easily been used, but there wasn't any option to tear it up. I eventually died.

 

Kind of irritates me. Perhaps I was just incredibly unlucky with loot spawns, but the utter absence of anything that could be used as a makeshift bandage in the insane number of residential buildings I searched was a bit silly. Pants and certain jackets should be tearable, even if tools have to be used (i.e. machetes or knives).

Well, I think that bandaging needs to be made variable...

 

Like, sure, you can tear up a bunch of clothes... but that bandage might not stop the bleeding. Whereas if you loot a packaged tourniquet or military bandage kit, it'd work more consistently.

 

I think that needs to happen before they start making everything rippable.

 

But yeah, this scenario arose earlier today with me. Hadn't realized I ran out of bandages, started bleeding, then frantically searched Gvozdno for a t-shirt. Took a while, but found one.

Have you ever actually tried ripping your jeans? It's not exactly easy and I wouldn't expect anyone to be able to do that, really.

Even ignoring the fact that the OP said this...

 

Pants and certain jackets should be tearable, even if tools have to be used (i.e. machetes or knives).

 

jeans are still tearable with your bare hands - especially if you have the adrenaline rush of recently being in a fight, and especially if that fight was with an undead corpse.

 

Granted, they're not easy to rip, but you could do it if you neded to.

Trust me you can and will find a way if you have to. I once had to cut bungie cord with 2 rocks in a Malaysian jungle....wasn't easy but got there in the end.

 

Maybe we could get the option to rip tougher cloths with a knife or something :)
