Am I doing something wrong with chat?

I've not got a mic so I cant talk to anyone in game :(

 

However, a couple of times when i've seen people, i've typed using 'direct communiction' ( the / key) and never had any response.

 

But i've also bumped into lots of people and they never seem to speak. Not once has anyone voiced over to try and speak to me, and either say hello or threaten me or anything.

 

I know direct/voice chat is limited by range, but in gameplay videos, people seem to always talk when they see someone, but i've never had it happen to me. Am I just unlucky or is this a problem at my end?

It could just be bad luck....or it could be a bug that's been around since A2. That bug is that other people cant see your direct, but you see theres, or vice versa. Usually a relog sorts it out, if not find a different server. The problem is even if you know people can see yours then others may have the bug and you don't see theres.

 

The best thing to do is buy a mic....for some odd reason iv never had the bug with voice....only text :)
