How I've died to sloppy programming

Recommended Posts

All 4 times that I've died of "unnatural" causes has been due to no morphine and my leg being broken.

IMO, this mechanic should be ultra rare, getting a broken anything, and require a person to carry exactly one stint at any given time.

As it is, it is ruining the game for me, having avoided all causes of death but being fucked over but a blitz zombie broken something and no morphine.

Add that to- crawling down stairs and sliding to death.

Crawling around for 3 days and never finding morphine.

Swapping baggage and losing all items in the bag including the 4 morphine I was carrying and the rare M24, DM, and MP5 and M14. All separate times. Nice.

Dayz seems to be showcasing all that sucks about Arma2.

Zombies braking your legs too often is fixed in 1.7.2

Uhh, crawling down stairs? That's a pretty reliable way to get yourself killed in real life too. Not sure that needs fixing.

Too hard for you?

Good It's how it's designed.

"Add that to- crawling down stairs and sliding to death."

As Zeds stated, how often do people crawn down stairs in the first place?

It is also, ALPHA, so expect your items to be lost.

It's also better to play in groups. I've got into issues where I was stuck with a broken leg, and had a some good players who came 5 hours of walking to come save me.

This is not a DayZ mechanic, it's built into the ArmA engine itself. And being that ArmA is an infantry simulator at heart the developers were probably less interested in things like this than actual infantry tactics and teamwork.

People who know nothing about programming dictating the what is and isn't sloppy programming.

LOVE it.

Oh right, I didn't read the insult to programming.

So to the Original Poster: Code something better, and surely they will implement it, if not, "GTFO."

Its not programming, its scripting. Rocket didnt develop ArmA, hes manipulating it with scripts.

Also, bandages do not take the same space as morphine, so i feel like thats an outright lie.

You just mad. Listen its amod. Everything yo u get this life is replaceable. I've died crawling next to trucks, fences, in and out of house, cus of snipers, cus of glitchers, cus of zombies, cus of blood loss(I actually ran from Cherno to Baltoa(?) airfield where a buddy was after stumbling across a box of medi supplies. I had 200 health and passed out at least 15 times).

Man up and just play better, or if you are frustrated go play something else. No sense in getting worked up and burnt out on a Alpha stage MOD. If you get so pissed off when the MOD is Beta or Final release..you wont be able to enjoy it.

"Man up and just play better" Dark Souls was a good game. This is a bug fest. When you say "Man Up" you mean gear up for all the crap coding you have to avoid? Yeah that's manhood?

Anyway you guys are slobbering at the mouths like fanbois over your fav game. I was just pointing out why I'm going to go take a summer break and enjoy better things than play an unfinished product. Oh dear god FORGIVE me for providing feedback.

Was it designed to crash? And if so, was it the correct crash that crashed?

Maybe you should go to the BIS forums and bitch about your problems with Arma2 there, where people who can do something about it might actually read your self-entitled petulant whining. I mean who wouldn't want to bend over backwards to please someone who has played a zombie mod for a few days and found some problems with their very long established niche military simulator game.

It's called an alpha mod for a reason. Alpha = most basic, bug ridden mess that is still technically playable. Do not whine about being killed by bugs in an alpha. The reason you're here is to die to bugs and record them so that there will be fewer bugs in the future.

If you don't want to die to bugs, uninstall the DayZ alpha and wait a few years till the release version of the mod comes out.

If you're okay with dieing to some bugs, then uninstall DayZ and wait a year till the Beta comes out.

If you're okay with dieing constantly to bugs, then welcome to the DayZ Alpha. :P

It was designed to crash gracefully while working correctly.

Agree. Zombies proc broken legs too often. This is ULTRA FRUSTRATING. Make the chance 0.1% or remove it from the game.

You should only break legs when falling down

You're a fucking idiot, plain and simple. It's an ALPHA! Not a release; Alpha's have a shit load of bugs.

I swear, there are so many people who play this FREE mod in the alpha stage and complain because it's not as bug free as a release, or complain because of new experimental content.

I'm an idiot for providing necessary feedback. Personal attack leads the comment. Wipe the froth from your nerdy mouth and then I might attempt to give a shit about whatever it is you typed afterwards.

IKR. It's total military sim- invested if you do exactly as expected and then tragic when you go "out of line"

Unexpected; it's what civilians are always certain to do.
