Hikurac 115 Posted June 27, 2014 (edited) I'm all for being friendly. I spend most of my time I just relax and going hunting. However, in defence of KOS'ing, why would you risk being friendly? It's the apocolypse and DayZ is supposed to be about survival. So why take a huge risk and wave to the guy who's nearby? Sure if he has nothing and he doesn't see you, let him go. But if he has decent gear and he knows your location, let alone approaching you? Put a bullet in his head. Better him then me. Hikurac 115 Posted June 27, 2014 (edited) It's against the rules to have PVE servers right now; and if there is one, a**holes like Grimey Rick report it because it's not the typical Call of Duty shooter where they kill everything that moves.They report it because they're trying to enforce a server wide rule on a public hive. Problem is most KOSers just kill on sight they don't consider things like that they're usually sitting waiting for someone to kill anyway, if you come across someone with heavy weaponry that might be a problem it's fine but someone who clearly has practically nothing is worthless to kill.Sometimes it's justified but most of the time it's because the KOSer is a kewl hardcore survivor Y0L0. Anyway after much time and incredibly no crashes I managed to kill a deer with an axe get everything for fire and fail at cooking now I'm food poisoned and the screen is black and white, it's looking bleak but whatever finally made a fire :lol:I was also in like 5 servers without it resetting my character, the gods watched over me this day. TiggyPooh 134 Posted June 27, 2014 I play a lot on the grumpy old gamers server (http://www.grumpyoldgamers.co.uk/) Seems to be a relative friendly server and asks that people at least try to talk it out before killing each other.It's only a 30 man server and usually never more than half full, so you don't bump into many people. LanceroxD (DayZ) 75 Posted June 27, 2014 I guess I'm wrong to wonder if there's some utopia server where people actually try to play the game and survive instead of turning it in to a war game. Yeah I've been trying empty servers but they just seem to fill up right away to at least 12 people and they all seem to be in airfields or where you need to look for new things. I don't really want to join a clan just wanting to experience the hunting and such then not play for a while.When a certain other game appears I might just delete DayZ from my Steam honestly, if the in game community if you can call it that doesn't improve at all.It's a great game but the people stop it being a great experience, mostly.If you just want to murder people then yay but if you don't this game gets so tiresome.this game is notfore everyone , if you want to try being pacifist , go . you will fail eventually but .... i dont know what kind of game you expected when you bought dayz....in apocalypse war etc. people must fight to survive . 2 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

All I want to do right now is hunt some stuff, fish and make a campfire but either the game crashes or people shoot me before I find enough of the ridiculous amount of stuff you need to be prepared. Then I'll go back to the standard experience...AKA everyone kills each other for no reason because we're clearly playing Call of Duty. Is it so much to ask that you don't just shoot everyone you see? If they have gun out and might shoot you then fair enough but if they're just casually wandering around and you don't need food or anything why even bother shooting them? Say hi or wave it's very simple and if like 50% of the players did it imagine how much better the experience would be for everyone... OR does anyone who hasn't hunted, went fishing or made a campfire yet want to team up? Because at least if there's more than one of us douchebags won't just kill us and we'll get to see the warm glow of fire.I don't have a mic or anything though but I'll happily join people that use them, I type pretty quick. Since it takes so long to find stones or a pick, a backpack to carry stuff, an axe to get wood or sticks, a knife, a fishing hook, matches, rope and ashwood sticks, a shovel and worms by yourself.Clearly these new features were intended for groups...it's just so much easier to find cans of food though... EDIT I'm in the UK but I can play until like 3-4AM over here just fine so should be game for most time zones.untill private hives are intorduced, server owners can do nothing to enforce any standards of gameplay. as such- any server with "noob friendly", "No PvP", "Friendly community", etc or the like will only attract more d-bags then usual looking for easy "bambis' to kill.
