What is wrong with the new experimental patch?

So I was playing experimental today and found no sign of animals. I cannot seem to cut trees/mine rocks and cook. All of the features are gone except the new animations...

 

This better not be all that is released on stable... :|

A heap of the new patch was taken out so they could specifically test rubberbanding, to be added back in very soonly.

 

edit- See here 0.45.124426 will be pushed to stable tomorrow morning, assuming nothing catches fire tonight. Later that day, we intend to update exp.
