Arma 2 Will not let me downgrade

Hello,

 

Okay so I've tried downgrading to version 103718 using DayZ Commander and manually downloading the patch. But both times I get this error:

I still don't see why it is suggested that if you have a DRM free (retail) version of Arma 2 that you should activate it on Steam so you can play DayZ properly, I've never had to (I actually bought mine that way because at the time Steam was a notorious pain in the arse to get DayZ to work on) and even with GameSpy shut down I can still access everything through Commander easily enough.

 

Am I missing something?

GameSpy shutting down. It was supposed to shut down 14 days ago and the only reason there's so much confusion about it is because it hasn't.

 

If it would you would be thankful for the opportunity to be able to activate it in Steam, as it needs to use the Steam-Browser now.

Have you tried deleting (moving, renaming, et al) your \expansions\beta yet?

 

What have you tried, mate?  Are you using Steam at all, or only DZC? Help us help you!

When I try to rename the folder or delete the BETA folder for some reason it isn't there. But I have fixed the problem by reinstalling Arma 2 OA. If there is anyway I can downgrade without doing that I would love to know because I constantly switch between two different servers. One of them runs 1.62 and the other runs 1.63.

Try renaming your entire \expansions\ directory, rather than just \beta?

 

You can certainly play with two different versions, so you should be able to iron this out.
