Character Wipes Almost Every Time

Okay, at this point I have no idea what is going on. Every time I log off It seems there is a 1 in 3 chance that my character will be wiped. I avoid sketchy servers, heck I even stick to the "official" servers. I always log off on the 2nd story of a building I know zombies cannot run up. I even wait some time before logging off to ensure that no zombies are around.

 

I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating, I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't experienced it first hand. At this point its just so discouraging to play seeing how often my character has been reset to a fresh spawn. /shrug

 

Have any of you guys had this happen? If ever for that matter? It just seems to be happening way too often for me.

If you always log off in 2nd story buildings perhaps there is a glitch that kicks you out of a building?  I always log off next to a bushy pine tree away from buildings and potential zombies and i have never had an unexpected  character wipe.

 

Worth a shot, otherwise not sure what the problem could be.

LOL same here never log in a city/town let alone a building on the second story.

Find a nice secluded pine tree or hunter's hut. Never log in town.

I guess it's worth a shot. I started out logging out in the middle of a forest and upon spawning back in a zombie would be attacking me and either I die or break my legs. Crazy thing though is that me and a friend of mine were almost reset around the same time. He had logged out the night before and I was able to play a bit before I was reset. I'll try again sometime with you guys' advise. Still think it's odd that I've experienced so much more than others. Thanks though!

When I log out in the woods I usually stay in my position for over a minute to make sure no zombie is following me. It can get tedious after a while.. I wish it were optional to wait out your 30-second logout period ingame for this reason. (like if you could wait the 30 seconds in game for an instant logout but if you alt+f4 or logout immediately your character would still be there for 30 seconds)

What defines the official servers?  When I rented mine it was labeled as DayZ US whatever but I did change the name so it'd be easier for my buddies and myself to remember it.  I also have never had any character wipe issues at all and can even log out safely upstairs in a building so I do not get why quite a few players have this issue.
