Redstar Payne 54 Posted June 3, 2014 So I was modding skyrim one day and saw back packs with bedrolls and tents underneath them and sometimes on top depending on the back pack you used and i thought to my self wouldnt it be cool to have tents we could add to a spot on our back that meshes with the back pack somehow in dayz, realistically it makes sense because most people would not store a tent in their pack, it prevents them from storing other items and most cases the tent would just take up the entire back pack so who wants that? Might take some votes over this i mean it is a stretch and could cause some clipping issues but im sure it could add to the real feel of the game. Let me know mates!
SFRGaming 718 Posted June 3, 2014 I would like for things such as tents, canteens, sticks, etc to have the ability to be strapped to the backpack.

TIC 1050 Posted June 3, 2014 It could work.. If there can be pistol holsters, I'd like to see tents including straps that you could have placed next to your backpack. This should change the affect of your movements though.

Having a packed tent around with other items you would be carrying wouldn't even be possible so having it strapped around your back would be great. This is what I'd like to see in the picture below, most of the equipment appears outside the backpack.. If this were possible to be in DayZ, each item that's been inflicted damage would be more varied instead of all items becoming "Ruined" Edited June 3, 2014 by TIC321

amiasfree 262 Posted June 3, 2014 (edited) I think this is an awesome idea, but I think it should be limited to backpacks with the metal rails (if they add them). Mountain packs we have are one thing, then there is stuff like this: Edited June 3, 2014 by Amias Free
Element47 2481 Posted June 3, 2014 (edited) i generally like the idea that your backpack model isnt static, but changes depending whether its empty of stuffed - or whether you carry a tent or not. this should go well with this suggestion i just found: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/183611-empty-backpack-models-different-carriable-containers/ its especially awesome because you could visually identify whether someone is potentially worth robbing - and if it affects stamina and movement, whether you have a mobility advantage in combat or not. The Aquatic Land Walrus 565 Posted June 3, 2014 Implementing things such as Carabeeners (Or however they're spelled. That's just what I call them when I go camping.) and zip-ties to externally store things would be nice. It'd be an advantage to take the mountain backpacks- because they can hold more on the outside than a hunting pack.
