skypig 139 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) most times I wait about 5 minutes to have cooked meat.. pieces range between 50-75%. I use the rag/stick fireplace with 2-3 logs and then 5+ minutes is the longest I've waited. cooked to burnt time is wayyyy too short though. NinjaTurkey 255 Posted July 8, 2014 Cooking has worked for me about 8/10 times. I watched a video the other day about this, apparently he came to the conclusion that if you can see your breath (server temperature is low) then it takes significantly longer to cook things. Iv not confirmed this but going by my success rate this may well be the case.
alsmir 255 Posted July 8, 2014 From my experience cooking works differently depending where do you make a fireplace. Indoors preferred: barns, houses, etc. When cooking outside my character keeps randomly bitching about the strong wind that makes it hard to make a fire and meet took like 2 times longer to cook. Moreover, fix the goddamn time it takes for meat to go from cooked to burned. Obviously whoever implemented it never cooked anything irl. Btw, priceless experience when I told my teammates to not eat burned meat. They did it anyway and started to vomit in the middle of a firefight later.
karlkurtz32 59 Posted July 8, 2014 What exactly do the percentages mean in regards to the meat?

I'm glad I avoided the temptation to eat them anyway. My stuff cooks fast, like within 2 minutes. I usually use 4 logs and 4 stones. And yeah, that window between cooked and burnt is very slim. irl-calibre 744 Posted July 8, 2014 (edited) Cooking needs tweaked if you ask me, there should be three stages of the fire First you make it - stage one Then you light it - stage two (meat cooked at this stage should just burn really quickly and the burn should last 10 mins - or how ever long it takes to dry out a completely soaked person) This should be stage three - poor for drying out wet clothing but perfect for cooking for 3-5 minutes and that would be fire sorted out imo.. Mad Scientist 73 Posted September 12, 2014 Just tried cooking for the first time. Used a large gas canister with the portable gas stove and cooking pot, turned it on, put some deer steaks in, burned in under 3mins...we actually watch a steak go from raw to burned instantly...Will try a fire next time... blowurselfup 54 Posted September 12, 2014 I don't know if this was the problem but I noticed that it takes much longer to cook meat on a fire if you add more than one log to the fireplace Also my cooking times have varied so much. sometimes it seems like it takes a LONG time...I have never timed it tho B)
