infiltrator 275 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) I noticed that the AKM has, unlike most other weapons, sway, even in iron sight mode (unlike the mosin). The sway is irritable, moving unnaturally and sharply, in both modes. Is this one of the first steps at replacing dispersion with sway? Will you make other weapons behave thus as well? Daemonkid 493 Posted May 30, 2014 They all have sway and it's very nice.
Katana67 2907 Posted May 30, 2014 Hopefully, the dispersion is ridiculous. However, I always felt the sway (at least in ARMA II) was bad as well. One doesn't jolt suddenly from random point to random point whilst aiming a weapon. At least, I don't.
infiltrator 275 Posted May 30, 2014 They all have sway and it's very nice. No other weapon has ironsight sway AFAIK. I don't know what they're trying to achieve with the jerky sway.
Daemonkid 493 Posted May 30, 2014 Uhm. Yes they do? It's on EXP, my AKM has a small but noticeable sway when aiming down the sights. Same with the mosin, the SKS, the M4..There is also the delay when when moving your weapon around because that's apart of the weapon dexterity system. I haven't tried the other weapons other than pistols on EXP, so they've added sway on their ironsights? I'm 100% sure they are perfectly still on stable. Is the sway twitchy like the AKM or smooth? Daemonkid 493 Posted May 30, 2014 Is the sway twitchy like the AKM or smooth?Well, that's a matter of opinion. I find the sway on the AKM to be hardly noticeable. While the Mosin and the SKS are pretty much in the same boat for me there. It's there, but barely.
Bororm 1156 Posted May 30, 2014 Weapons have always had sway. Holding right click will "hold breath" and steady your weapon for a bit. I like the sway in arma, it is random but you can still "fight" it. Especially on scopes.Feels fine to me, if anything I think it should be increased even more for moving (already does, would like more), to encourage people not to sprint around so much. gibonez 3633 Posted May 30, 2014 Big fan of the Arma 3 sway. Would love it if the sway increased the longer you held the rifle in aim mode. This would simulate arm fatigue.
Jex 1104 Posted May 30, 2014 What's the issue with my weapon dragging when I swing it? I swing left and it doesn't stay centered in my screen instead it bends/sways/drags to the right (and the same for the opposite movement. This is complete and utter bollocks - hold up a broom stick and hold it like a rifle and see how much it does that in real life.

over9000nukez 199 Posted May 30, 2014 I hate the way, when aiming down a LRS especially above 300m or so, because it moves so jaggedly I'm not even able to tell where its going to go next, so I can even shoot the damn thing, 30+ people have survived because of that sway, and just not even being able to shoot. Jex 1104 Posted May 30, 2014 (edited) Yup because a broomstick has the same weight and properties as a 7 foot long mosin. it was an example and a mosin isn't 7 feet ffs! I never had that type of drag in rl. Edited May 30, 2014 by Jexter

You will not be able to wield it like a broomstick nor will it be able to be moved ad quickly as a 4 pound 14 inch m4

The true length is a huge 4 feet and about 9 pounds. You will not be able to wield it like a broomstick nor will it be able to be moved ad quickly as a 4 pound 14 inch m4 I know that but it doesn't drag at all. At no point holding any rifle am I going to turn and then half a second later the rifle starts turning with me. Holding a broomstick will show you this dragging effect is total bollocks. If you want to argue the point please provide this new version of physics you're using.
