Azrail (DayZ) 211 Posted June 29, 2012 but its unplayable.it is very well playable.Pls point me to these mythical servers you play on. If you say they are filled at night with 40+ players' date=' then by all means, share with the rest of us.[/quote']DE10 is usually packed to the limit at all times. I dont care for other servers. if DE10 is full, i just pick a random server with a free slot. next time i join a night server i will make sure to screenshot it so you believe me... :sleepy:if you can't find good night servers, maybe your timezone sucks? i dont know, might have to deal with high ping servers then. Molten 0 Posted June 29, 2012 The most awesome experience I ever had in Dayz was shitting my pants at every sound I heard whilst playing at night. That though was when I first started playing. Then someone said, "I know, let's make the night so friggin dark that you either need NVG's, or constant flares to do the simplest thing"... I no longer found the experience enjoyable.Which is a bloody shame, as this mod has the potential to scare you shitless. And cause members of the family to run into the room to see why you screamed like a little girl !The nightime is this mods biggest potential for atmosphere and frights, and that was thrown away for what I can see was no gaming value or benefit at all. dut 21 Posted June 29, 2012 Well your friends don't know what they're doing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLCjAOybQq8&feature=player_detailpage#t=143spause the video at 2:23' date=' you can see the hill that has a flare on it completely saturated. ....[/quote']At 2:23 the goggles haven't adjusted yet, when he looks at the hill again 5 seconds later you can see all of the zombies on the hill easily.NVGs ruin the fun of night servers for everybody, including NVG users. I don't care if rocket removes NVG's, I play primarily day time. But the ineptitude of players who bitch is really ridiculous.
Capt Murphy 2 Posted June 29, 2012 well out of my pov the darkness kills the game. a few servers the night time is more of a black/white thats okay because u can see a little bit but the most servers its like i just shut off my screen has the same effect.ive been playing this mod since 2 weeks now and i found alot of stuff but couldnt manage to find nvgs and the ppl i killed dc to fast so that their body would despawn bevor i could loot so yeah....without nvgs no fun on night serversThis is what I don't get.I joined one server once, where I could somewhat see at night.Every other server I join is literally absolute pitch black. Can't see my character, lucky if I can see the night sky at all.I tried the gamma/brightness/hdr thing a couple times since I was sick of trying to find a decent ping server with daylight, but it didn't help at all.I've heard numerous people say the game is playable at night without adjusting settings, I don't see how this is possible? Is night just showing up differently for people?
dut 21 Posted June 29, 2012 The buildings aren't blocking the flare, it is about 2/3rds up the hill and clearly visible."But the ineptitude of players who bitch is really ridiculous."That's a terrible attitude to have. It's probably the reason why you missed the point of Adanteh's post completely.

It's probably the reason why you missed the point of Adanteh's post completely.[/quote']I didn't miss the point. Check the video earlier at 2:05-2:10 as well, you will see the same level of saturation. Even at ~100m + buildings + the zombies being to the side of the flare (at the end of the video where you claim you can clearly see the zeds), the saturation is pretty bad -- and blinding when you look at the flare itself. Were you to be at the same level as the flare, you would not see past it. You need to keep in mind when a flare will blind NVG's and when they won't. Also keep in mind that you don't need to be next to the flare itself to get the ambient lighting you need to go about your business. This is almost as bad as people complaining that it's too easy to get sniped when they take NO precaution against snipers.

I guess ir has to do with the weather, if ther's a moon out, the ingame date as well i guess
