In-depth guide for GFX Settings, FOV, Mouse Sensitivity, and Controls.

Recommended Posts

This will be the first in a series of tutorial videos covering all aspects of DayZ from preparing yourself for success, to surviving and thriving as a lone wolf or in large groups. Whether you're a hardened Vet from the mod, or you've just picked up the game, this series will walk you through the process of surviving, step by step, allowing you to take on anything DayZ can throw at you.

In the opening chapter, I do an in depth overview of the entire main menu, graphics settings, mouse sensitivity, a demonstration of the practical effects of FOV and Object Detail, and much much more.

Keep in mind, this video is long and while much of it may be common sense or well known to veteran players, it will give new players everything they need to know to get started BEFORE they ever log into a server. It also contains a few very important tidbits that even experienced players could learn from.

There is an entire time-stamp index to jump to points of interest in the video if you view the description.

Hope this helps some people.

Turn up your volume.

Or you can learn to speak in to the mic or get a better one.

Mic is less than 1 foot from my face, and it's a Yeti Blue $130 microphone. You are the ONLY PERSON who has had ANY problem hearing me speak. I can hear my voice fine even when playing it back on my Android phone. Maybe you need a hearing aid, or to turn up your volume, like I suggested.

Update:

I now have 4 hours of footage recorded for Chapter 2, which I need to edit down.

Pro's - I actually got into a firefight near the end with 2 players at NWAF! So I will include that in the video as a part of surviving as a lonewolf.

Con's - I was unable to find a Fishing hook or a compass, which is something I'd like to go over.
