Consuming and processing seawater.

Recommended Posts

Saltwater should be drinkable, but should obviously incur side effects -- dehydration, for instance. It should also be possible to process saltwater into a drinkable state through boiling when firepits or fireplaces are implemented. Salt from saltwater should also serve minor purposes in the game -- for instance, as a preservative for meat once hunting is implemented.

Kind of a trivial issue in light of how ridiculously easy it is to stay fully hydrated in the game, but it'd nevertheless be a neat touch.

I'm pretty sure consuming 1 days worth of saltwater instead of freshwater will cause you enough trouble since all you do is accelerate dehydration. Suggestions beeing able to create "drinkable" water are already made. It should not be that hard to stay hydrated in an apocalypse as long as you have a water source, fire and some sort of fireproof container to boil it, guess what people without running water or bad or non existent water processing facilities do nowadays?
