They need to make it to where when you are killed by a player that players name should pop up next to yours in the messages to indicate who killed you. And not just the in game name but the Steam user name. Like this:

(Your Steam name - Your in game name) -===;=[] (Their Steam name - Their in game name)

The -===;=[] is a horrible attempt at a gun I've made, lol. Or they could just use both players Steam name. This way when people get video/picture evidence of hackers there can actually be something done about them. I'm new to DayZ and am baffled as to why there is no account name indication in the game. Hmm....

I played the mod maybe once. Found it quite difficult to find a working server. Didn't even get a chance to do much, didn't know this feature was on the mod and not here.

In the mod it would just say "(Players name in-game) Killed By (players in-game name)".. Pretty much that anyway. I would like this back ^^

Are you sure that's a hacker and not just a massive desync, like the red chain indicates?

Talking about desync: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-WJPMHK1rct=16m

My buddy was in the city below the airfield and he died 2 seconds after me and there was only me him and 1 other guy in at that time.. forgot to mention that bit though, so my bad

FFS desync...

What is happening there is that a hacker ports in.

As soon as anybody collides with your "Networkbubble" yxou will get the red chain since entities will have to be synchronised

(So if you encounter a red chain in game chances are good there is another player entering your networking bubble.)

Not to speak of the havoc a teleporting hacker will wreak on the interpolation of the engine so of course there will be constant synchronising.

But... yeah that had to be desync...
