More utility items

Recommended Posts

If anyone has played Project Zomboid you would know what I am talking about in the sense a huge amount of items have different uses, like needing a kettle then boiling water put a teabag in the water and maybe something else or you can go out and hit someone with a kettle.

There should be more items used for general purposes,

PART I ; 26th May 2014

1. Cutlery, I thing cutlery should be a thing as who manages to perfectly eat a can of beans with out spilling some, I think that there should be some sort of penalty for not using cutlery like a spoon for something liquid or small (beans) but also like a knife for solid foods like meat to control the exact amount you eat.

2. Hammers, Nails and Planks/Wood, It should be added that boarding up windows and doors should be added, the only particular problem is that zombies don't bash down doors but just walk through everything in buildings. When boarding up windows it should make quite a bit of noise as you are whacking nails into a wall of a certain material.

3. Traps, I don't want to see contraptions like they fell out of Dead Rising but some traps should be made like a bear trap with a battery attached to it from maybe a car or a tripwire that triggers a siren to attract zombies.

4. An emphasis on melee should be made, this can be done by the Hammers, Nails part but with a baseball bat, and make a spiked baseball bat, this would do possibly more damage but can result in the bat more likely to break as it made more fragile and can get stuck in the zombie.

I'd like to see peoples opinions on these ideas and I will add more things in when I come up with more. :)

Toothbrush.

How long before people got toothache?

Things like these would be actually quite interesting to add in, and it is a good question.

I sometimes feel when playing I am not a human but some kind of organism with stomach and that's it.

Barricading is in the works, so don't worry. As for cutlery and the like, I think it's a cool idea, just as long as its common. I mean every house will have some cutlery in the real world. However this is high-detail stuff which should come after containers (such as cutlery drawers) are introduced.

Love the improvised weapons idea; instant kill anti-zombie weaponry from Last of Us was awesome, but the emphasis would have to still be on collecting supplies.
