Blern 74 Posted May 22, 2014 Its a bit more realistic to think that found ammunition would be in rough shape and result in misfeeds, stovepipe jams, failure to eject or extract, I'd like to see more realistic firearm performance other than improved ballistics. Finding an old box of rounds in a barn or on a body would be a lot different than finding a new box on a gun store shelf. So far I have only seen 'pristine' or 'ruined' ammunition. Baklavah had a great note about firearm condition, but often in real life the gun is perfect but the ammo is crap. Maybe a 'worn' or 'damaged' box of rounds would result in degrees of unexpected performance? Say, for a 'worn' round, it fires 75% of the time, and a 'damaged' round fires 25% of the time? Clearing a jammed round would be a simple stroke of the R key or something.
BSB Jimmy 360 Posted May 22, 2014 I like it, the bullets should degrade less easily IMO though.
qww 287 Posted May 23, 2014 hoping we will see something along these lines in future
stielhandgranate 480 Posted May 23, 2014 Ammo is pretty resilient in real life. I've used M2 belts made in the 1950s, and recently I've used 7.62 belts made in the 1980s. If it's in a box, it should be pristine. Unless its been outside for a few weeks outside of a box or magazine, it shouldn't degrade.
qww 287 Posted May 23, 2014 rounds that are damaged condition from zombie or gunfight or whatever, id like to see those rounds not work properly, assuming they fix the round split glitch

Hyperionguy 3 Posted May 23, 2014 I love how you can punch a bullet to degrade it's condition.

However the last two examples have intact primers and would likely function well. Also keep in mind most western ammo is brass cased and won't erode like your examples, M196,M855,M80,M882,M118LR ammo would fair better to the elements unlike that Warsaw pact/steel cased stuff. AP_Norris 1018 Posted May 23, 2014 rounds that are damaged condition from zombie or gunfight or whatever, id like to see those rounds not work properly, assuming they fix the round split glitchIt annoys me that zombie damage things so easily.I get hit and my shirt is ruined, meaning I can't even use it for rags somehow...Sure clothes should probably take damage reasonably quickly, but ammo, torches, definitely shouldn't degrade quickly from zombie hands.Bullets should be a bit less effective on clothes, and more devastating for solid objects putting things like mags, guns, ammo and other seemingly solid things. qww 287 Posted May 23, 2014 yeah sure i agree i duno how a zombie hit will ruin a bullet , i just mean if there are going to be damaged round in game whatever any reason, woudl be good to see them less reliable
