rhys.weigand@gmail.com 1 Posted May 21, 2014 Hey there guys, I used to play DayZ on my laptop (barely, but it was playable on 25+ fps). I recently built my own computer and I'm getting around 3-10 fps, Which... Should not happen... I've attached a screen grab from "SystemRequirementsLab.com" that shows my computer specs.Any help is appreciated thanks.

Mos1ey 6301 Posted May 21, 2014 Nvidia GeForce Experience is awful, I wouldn't recommend using it to set your graphics settings. I'd drop anti-aliasing, object detail a bit and disable post-processing if you haven't already. Are you having issues in any other games or only DayZ? Every other game I can play at the recommended settings.I just used the Nvidia GeForce Experience and set the settings to optimal and just played Arma2:OA smooth on those settings, Just when ever I load into a DayZ server the FPS is below 10.EDIT: After lowering those settings to Normal, I'm gettin from 7-17 fps now. That's still not right, with a decent i5 and GTX 760 you should be well above 30 FPS. This is regarding the mod and not DayZ retail, right? Have you tried deleting the mod completely and installing again from scratch? Edited May 21, 2014 by Mos1ey

kichilron 8550 Posted May 21, 2014 I did not understand when you were saying, that League of Legends has the same problems. What about other games? Did you try other games or are the mod and LoL the only games you tried? If so, make sure it's not something faulty in your computer. (can range from using the internal graphics instead your card to actual faulty hardware) Also, follow this comprehensive guide (still up to date, though old): http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/28160-guide-how-to-set-up-your-graphics-properly/

I can run Minecraft maxed out at 30 fps, Skyrim maxed out, Simcity 5 maxed out and Banished maxed out. All of those above 30 FPS and smooth. They are the only games I currently have installed as the computer is brand new.Thank you for the guide, I will go through that once I reinstall DayZ and report back. If Minecraft is only running at 30 FPS then I think you may have a hardware fault... It runs at about 300 FPS for me.

Sorry, I should have made it clear that I have the FPS Capped at 30. It will run at over 250 when I have it uncapped.
kichilron 8550 Posted May 21, 2014 Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't those games you listed above all CPU-demanding? I know ARMA 2 is mainly CPU and MC is Java, meaning it's CPU - i don't know anything about LoL, but it would make sense if it'd be that way.

I'm sorry, I have no idea.I have reinstalled DayZ and I'm still getting low fps, I have also followed that guide you said and turned off everything that didn't need to be on, It still says it's only 10-20 fps but it's smoother, When I make a hard turn though it gets really choppy.I guess this will have to do though, Thank you Mos1ey and Kichilron for all of your help and feedback. I have one more question. What mod are you playing? Are you playing Epoch or Vanilla? And have you played on different servers? Servers make all the difference, especially on DayZ and even more so on Epoch. Epoch is poorly optimised and has far too many objects. But 1.8.0.3 on a freshly restarted server should make a difference.

Some with 50 people and some with 10 and only an uptime of 30 minutes.
