doesn't stop downloading

Recommended Posts

I was gifted dayz in steam yesterday and I've gone through my 3rd attempt at downloading... it continues to download way beyond the 5.2 GB that the store suggests its going to download...It is currently suggesting its downloaded 18 gigs of information and still downloading! it has remained at 2% until completion since 5.0 gigs. the only way to stop it from downloading is to pause the download or delete the download. pausing the download does not "sync" it for lack of words to explain that its overdownloaded.  I have plenty of space but I don't know what its downloading beyond the 5.2 gigs and one thing of note the download isn't a full stream, it keeps blinking downloading at about 1 meg a second with pausing in between.  Anybody else get this kind of issue?

Not sure when or where it happened but after hours of supposed download it fixed itself somehow... I guess we will never know what the issue was! just glad I can at least play now!

I don't think the representation on Steam is accurate. It always had problems. Have you ever tried just letting it run instead of pausing / cancelling, just to see what happens?
