Is anything being done about damage taken from falls?

Played with the same character for about 10 hours. Accumulated awesome gear. Glitched off a ladder (go figure) and fell 5 feet. Next thing I see is "You Are Dead" I almost cried.

ladders are a remainder from the world-renowned, ultra-realistic military simulation the game was originally based on as a mod, so they are working properly as one would expect.

 

i heard though that the dev team considers implementing new, more arcadey ladders, that dont actually inhibit self-awareness and plans for final destruction of the human race. Its quite difficult though, as the ladder AI is quite persistent, so i doubt we'll see pacified ladders before beta.

Ladders are one of the leading causes of death in Chernaurus, followed closely by staircases, then slight inclines with rocks.

Hopefully they get nerfed in the future as they are too OP at the moment and players are constantly getting one shotted and dying.

The problem is that if they remove our main enemy, they may need to actually implement something else to add difficulty to the game, such as zombies that actually work, or weapons that shoot straight.

I think until then it is best to avoid climbing more than 3 inches off the ground, the community is happily providing a massive Amount of KoS players to replace the deadly ladders as your main threat for now.

I was at the NWAF and had like 6 zombies on me, so i ran into one of those hesco barrier bunkers and climbed the ladder up to the 2nd level, well couldnt get a shot at any of them so rather than climb down the ladder I just ran off the edge, about an 6-8 ft drop, didnt break my legs but did ruin my pants and everything in them. was glad i didnt die but was a little pissed that it broke a gun and some mags i had in my pockets.

didnt break my legs but did ruin my pants and everything in them.

i know that feeling - i shit myself everytime when i approach ledges in this game..

I'd love if the gas cookers had a chance of random explosion..

 

but random deaths to ladders and other glitches aside, i'd generally would like to see falling damage smoothed and communicated better to the player in future.. currently, it feels very random, and im pretty curious as to how they will finetune it in future... losing the ability to sprint for a certain time would be a nice effect
