Debug plains: Wait for update or just respawn?

Recommended Posts

I ended up on the debug plains after the server I was playing on crashed. When I joined another server, I was standing there on the plains. I tried to run east a good 30 minutes without luck. Unfortunately I don't have a compass and am on my last canteen.

Is there any chance of the 1.7.2 update to return me to the map or should I just say goodbye to my gear and respawn?

Something similar happened to me about the time you posted this, I was on UK63, the server crashed/restarted. Once the server restarted I rejoined, now I'm in the 'wilderness' and I have lost my equipment.

Sorry to hear that.

Would be great to hear from someone that has a solution to this, or at least confirm that the update won't give us a chance to continue.

I'm stuck there too. Found a forum thread that says to go to Server Canada 2 (or any older patch server) and run east, south-east and eventually you'll get out the debug plain. I'm still running.

P.S. Respawning doesn't help. You'll just spawn in with no gear instead.

Well I just used the respawn option in the menu and I'm no longer in the wilderness, so I'm pretty sure it wan't due to outdated files etc. usually associated with spawning in the wilderness. I suspect the server crash caused location to be stored on the master server incorrectly, just a theory. Really annoying though

That makes sense. I suppose I'll wait for the update and see if that helps. Not getting my hopes up though.

If I had worse gear, I wouldn't mind respawning. :D

exact same problem, + no gear. Read that solution about switching to 1.7.1.4 and going to canada but didnt seem to work for me, probably because when i jumped on that canada 2 sever they had updated to 1.7.1.5

Plus that thread didnt specify which beta patch to use.

THe only option thats looking viable now is running east, but without any equipment i dunno how thatll be possible, got the sea in sight and guess i could work out time o day by the sun.

But what happens when i get back?? surely ill have no equipment??

I tried running, but couldn't be sure of the direction. When I switched servers to try setting a waypoint, it seemed to reset my location back to the "spawn" area where I started.
