My person randomly reset?

I ran all the way down from the Rog castle to the coast. I had a decked out character after spending days looting NWAF and I finally got my prestine M4 decked out with all attachments and ACOG. Anti-stab vest, all the good stuff.

 

Well I bumped into a new spawn girl who was running down the coast to elektro while I was running opposite to Berezino. I waved to her, and she looked at me then waved and ran off. I kept running down, and went up into the forest.

I was on a 20/40 server so it wasn't that populated. I heard a few zombie noises here and there but I couldn't see a zombie in sight for hundreds of yards. I decided to switch to a more populated server so I could get some more contact with people, so I ran into 4 bushes bunched up with each other then logged off.

 

I logged on to a new server and my character was on the beach. WTF!?!

 

How the hell did this happen? A bug? I made sure nobody was following me and I'm pretty sure no zombies were following (never know, might be a sneaky one).

 

Think someone followed me while I logged off or a hacker came?

I have had this happen recently.  I ran myself back to where I had logged out and found a zombie doing the attack animation over my body.  I killed it and took my loot back, but that could be what happened.

The infected have crazy aggro range.  It is quite possible that one was on you from a long ways away and had an easy snack the moment you logged.

Server restarted today while I was looting a building up near Chernya(or w/e its called)

 

Logged back in as a fresh spawn in Orlovets.
