This pisses me off

So there I was, taking a break from the server dying after my longest play through ever. I had everything from an assault rifle and side arm with loads of ammo, a rather large backpack full of food, water, cantean, bandages, knife, optics, compass, map, hatchet, watch, toolbox and so much stuff I couldn't carry nor want anything else, as well as stuff in my truck parked in the bushes and here I am, fretting if I should log back on because it crashed in an army base, and I get in, all is fine, I think I better leave fast (it logged me inside one of the big buildings when I was actually OUT side of the base when it crashed) and I had to climb a slanted pole NOT A FOOT OFF THE GROUND to get over the broken down fence when for some reason, I screamed in pain and fell unconcious losing blood. I can't do anything and have to wait to watch my 12000 blood which I've managed to keep through the whole game drop. After I come too MY CHARACTER IS RUNNING ON HIS OWN AND I CAN'T FUCKING STOP IT, I'm dropping down prone, hitting all my keys to try and stop, couldn't and i was surrounded by zombies so I had to stop it some how quick before I alerted them, so I log off and back on and hey look! I'm unconcious and die.

What good is a survival game when fucking 1 foot of the ground poles that you have to climb over to get out kills you.

When your char gets stuck in auto run hit your ? to bring up the chat screen then backspace back out of it. Fixes it for me every time.

Well this is the Arma 2 engine in all its greatness, unless the Dayz mod people can rewrite the engine code then patch these bugs it will always be in alpha.

I hopped over a small wall, and broken my leg and arm..

Its the engine not the mod, and now arma 3 is coming, with all its engine tweaks, these problems will remain until its ported over..

I've found that to fix this, double tap the key that corresponds to the direction you're character is going, another quirk of the game :/

if you log out while knocked down or in need of painkiller etc, you will log in again lying on the ground. Afaik this is meaned for server hoppers and Disconnecters. You sir, are a disconecter and deserve it.

Thanks, will have to try that, is not the first time this has happened but never when I had so much loot so it didn't matter.

What? I'm not pissed off with no way to defend yourself, or the buildings. I don't care about being shot nor killed by a zombie. I care because I had one exit out of my location crawling up a pole one foot off the ground and knocking me out only to awake with a character spazzing out and not in my control as it runs and dives about unable to be stopped heading towards a group of zombies after a server crash completely out of any control.

Losing a fairly progressed character myself is one thing, losing it without any control due to ridiculous mechanics, is another.

all types of shit has happened to me from spawning in the sea to spawning unconscious. Falls, glitches, zombies hitting through walls have all meant death, and I've had some great loads. But its the nature of the beats man, really just get over it and start again. Well done on having a good run.

As I've already stated numerous times. I was unconscious after being knocked out from a fall from a great height of 1 foot, woke up with character spazzing out and out of my control, logged out because...it was spazzing out and out of my control! (and hitting every key didn't help) and logged in unconscious and died.

All from 12000 blood and a foot drop over an exit I had to take.

Good to know that's shock though, someone told me that icon was a broken arm or leg.

It pisses me off too,but you need to get over with it. The first rule in DayZ is that you CAN'T get attached to your gear. One time I got M4A3 CCO and M9SD with shitloads of ammo and I died by falling off the stairs.

The game is still full of bugs. And even if it hadn't any,you would still die eventually.
