Bandit switch bug with backpacks

Date/Time: 25APR12 / 2300 Eastern US

What happened: Killed a player and turned Bandit. The gear in the backpack then disappeared. Had everything from extra water to a spare gun disappear. Also happened to the person I was with.

Where you were: East Coast

What you were doing: Hunting...

Yeah I also lost 2300 humanity with one kill which I did because he was sniping down on people from the factory.

Instantly got a bandit and lost my M16 with ACOG and 6 mags, my blood packs, my painkillers and morphine (except one of each of the later two).

That is what I call clusterf*ck. ;)

Yeah, this happened to two of my friends. If this is an unavoidable issue with switching the models, maybe have the script drop the backpack before it switches the models?

That'd be a dirty fix.. but a fix, I guess. Would be awkward to have to pick up what you had (or worse yet, having to leave it behind) in a jam.

Just happened to me also. WORSE, EVERY SINGLE TIME I LOG IN IT HAPPENS AGAIN.

I log in as a normal player, move around a bit, and then get a Loading Character Data screen, during which I am switched to a bandit, I can still move while in the Loading Char screen, and when I return to seeing the 1st person view, my backpack is empty.

SO no matter what I do now, I can not use ANY backpack.

Basically going to stop playing until this is fixed cause I have no storage capacity.

Can confirm this as well. Shot someone in self defense, went bandit, black screen popped up saying "Requesting Character Data". Then Character Data Loaded or something, black screen never went away. Forced to exit out of the game come back in and backpack was empty and I was a bandit.
