zombie idea

So I think I have come up with a solution to how zombies spawn with and a punishment for killing other players as it were. Every time a player is killed a zombie takes his place. There will still be a decent amount of zombies and random spawns but the more killing of players in an area means more zombies in that area.

I like the concept but the zeros and ones capacity just isn't there to remain stable. I'd love to see a 45 sec player to zed transformation timer implemented. Want the loot from your kos? Best be quick about it!

Dead player turned zombie....

My regret is that I only have one can of beans to give you.  Oh, and when the player turns to a zed, all the gear is ruined.

What about players getting killed by zombies?  Spawn areas would be almost unplayable.  Even now, when you spawn in those NE cities, you can get quickly overrun.

This has been brought up previously and gets shot down every time.

Personally I find the idea a little silly since the "zeds" in dayZ are living, breathing humans with a rage virus (comparable to 28 days later) and the players are supposed to be the few humans that are immune to the disease. So since there isn't any "undead" zombies in the game there isn't any way for a body to become reanimated after death.

Whose to say that player "death" doesn't allow for the virus to take control? My natural occurring antibodies are more than compromised when I am in a downed state. Being beyond player assisted revival doesn't mean a super rage virus can't perk me up.

Not doing it right then... even with the zombies now the only time I have issues is when they glitch. I am a Noob and I guess technically been killed by a zombie once ( bleeding out zed ruined my bandages and ran around forever trying to find some before falling unconscious) I beat them all day with my fists. I was unaware of how they played the story out about a virus instead of the whole undead thing. But I would think that if they were able to figure out a risk vs reward dynamic like that it would be right there along with the rest of the game. Everything really is risk vs reward. It would also make people think twice about killing for no reason and people committing suicide because they don't like the spawn point. There are so many positives. Not to mention the larger cities where people kill others a lot would be causing themselves a zed problem. It is the best way to balance ... well everything

Plenty of spawn room in the interior forests. I think it's silly that we spawn so close to towns as it is.

I like the idea personally.

Just because it is a zombie apocolypse game doesn't mean it has to be completeley ridiculous.

I think that idea was just a stretch too far, no offence.

None taken. Still want more zeds though.

The zombies cannot be like the 28 days later rage zombies? otherwise they'd be dead easy to kill..... I'd of thought they were un-dead zombies?!?

how about just letting zombies generally be attracted to dead bodies, spawning a few of them when no zombie is around a dead player, and then begin to eat them?

 

gear is ruined, no gear takeback after dead

 

KoS will have to hurry to retrieve loot

 

people will think twice about dieing

 

 

also your character is NOT resistant to the zombie virus, since you still have a minor chance to get infected and die when a zombie hits you
