Do you make that or just edit it to create the 2nd image? I would love to see a zombie avatar like that!

So, you take someone elses artwork, edit it, cover original artist name and claim credit for it?

Original looks better, to be honest.

Noooo

1. It's free to use and I got an ok to use it

2. I wanna see you do better and 'edit' it

3. If I didn't cover his name it'd take away from the piece and look weird which is why I had a before and after to still give him credit

Sometimes I make it sometimes I edit it it costs more money to make so it's usually cheaper for me to get an okay from the creator and pay them or give them credit when it's done if I edit it. I can make something for you if you want just PM me or something

It is a copyrighted character design by character/creature designer and concept artist Jerad S. Marantz

I will send him a further e-mail regarding his permission to claim credit for his work.

I have done a bit of graphical creation in past decade, I did not come here to compete you though but to point out that what you do, is wrong. And original does look better. That is criticism. You must learn to accept it or you can uninstall you editing software right away.

Use free resources. Deviantart got loads of it.

The fact that you don't know anything about copyrights tells me a story that you have never paid anything, nor for any stocks or even software you are using, and I rather PM a forum moderator and ask a fair question if they allow a mockery of professional artists and their work to a such level where people even spit on their name, metaphorically speaking.

Edit: all you edited in that painting, is a color overlay and your name. And you did that to a piece that took days to paint on a professional level. I mean, I am rarely rude to anyone but what you are doing here, demands it.

Copyright is a legal concept, enacted by most governments, that grants the creator of an original work exclusive rights to its use and distribution, usually for a limited time, with the intention of enabling the creator of intellectual wealth (e.g. the photographer of a photograph or the author of a book) to receive compensation for their work and be able to financially support themselves.

Copyright is a form of intellectual property (as patentstrademarks and trade secrets are), applicable to any expressible form of an idea or information that is substantive and discrete.[1] It is often shared, then percentageholders are commonly called rightsholders: legally, contractually and in associated "rights" business functions.[citation needed] Generally rightsholders have "the right to copy", but also the right to be credited for the work, to determine who may adapt the work to other forms, who may perform the work, who may financially benefit from it, and other related rights.

Copyright initially was conceived as a way for government to restrict printing[citation needed]; the contemporary intent of copyright is to promote the creation of new works by giving authors control of and profit from them. Copyrights are said to be territorial, which means that they do not extend beyond the territory of a specific state unless that state is a party to an international agreement. Today, however, this is less relevant since most countries are parties to at least one such agreement. While many aspects of national copyright laws have been standardized through international copyright agreements, copyright laws of most countries have some unique features.[2] Typically, the duration of copyright is the whole life of the creator plus fifty to a hundred years from the creator's death, or a finite period for anonymous or corporate creations. Some jurisdictions have requiredformalities to establishing copyright, but most recognize copyright in any completed work, without formal registration. Generally, copyright is enforced as a civil matter, though some jurisdictions do apply criminal sanctions.

Most jurisdictions recognize copyright limitations, allowing "fair" exceptions to the creator's exclusivity of copyright, and giving users certain rights. The development of digital media and computer network technologies have prompted reinterpretation of these exceptions, introduced new difficulties in enforcing copyright, and inspired additional challenges to copyright law's philosophic basis. Simultaneously, businesses with great economic dependence upon copyright, such as those in the music business, have advocated the extension and expansion of their intellectual property rights, and sought additional legal and technological enforcement.

Not to mention he is always on Devian Art which you said free stuff is on

I know what a copyright is. Now after you have googled it, read it and remember the meaning.

Fact that it is on internet, doesn't mean it is free to take and take credit for it.

99% of todays artists are on deviantart. And posting stuff there. You don't obviously realize it but these artists don't spend their time painting for amateurs to ruin their work, tape their name on it and put out as theirs.

Nowhere on his account can I see that this is free for anyone to use, only do I see that all his work is copyrighted which makes your both statements wrong (that it is free stock and you have his permission).

You removed his name from edited work and replaced it with yours. There is 0.01% of your work on this painting, and most of that is your name covering his.

This is not an argument because you have nothing to add to it from your side other than remove that picture from your post.
