Some simple schemes for crafting

Some people suggested the idea to add crafting in the game. I think it should be something simple that everyone could do, not only an experienced engineer. That requires knowledge, but does not require skill.

Here are some examples:

fishing line + empty cans (canned soda) = a handmade alarm system (if someone touches the fishing line, the empty cans make noise and it will warn the player nearby)

Weapons + electrical tape / scotch + Flashlight = weapons with flashlight

Flare + crossbow arrow = light crossbow arrow (before the shot should be light)

Wood + electrical tape / scotch = fixation for broken leg (you can walk, but cannot run, and you need a painkiller).

Campfire + knife = You can cauterize the wound and stop bleeding (you temporarily lose consciousness, if you do not take the painkiller)

I'm sure people in the know can offer more options. For example how to make a silencer for a gun with a plastic bottle. Or how to make a change of bandages with tape and handy tools (but there is a probability of infection). And so on.

+1 from me, especially on the can and line alarm, and the ability to stop bleeding with a hot knife from the camp fire.

Some very nice little ideas. I know rocket is working on very basic crafting tools, to immerse us more. These ideas are not game breaking, and really give it that survival feel.

I like the splint for a broken leg. a temporary solution until you can find yourself some morphine. I also The flashlight gun. I normally stay away from servers at night but that might get me to play at night more often.

Make the electrical tape (I would prefer Duct tape) an item you could store on your tool belt.
