LumberBack 43 Posted June 26, 2012 I dont know what it is, but ive gotten paranoid as f because of the white dots on the sides of the screen... The reason to my paranoia, is if im just covering in some bushes, trees, in a house etc. people somehow tend to find me... take this guy for an example, he drives around with his jeep, like he is looking for something, back and forth. I mean there is no way he can see me yet he acts like he can... Been playing on veteran servers and some expert too, but they still have them dots...:dodgy:
Kane (DayZ) 0 Posted June 26, 2012 Peripheral vision, seeing white dots mean there is something in that direction like an animal/player/dead body on that side of the screen that you can't see infront of you.
LumberBack 43 Posted June 26, 2012 yeah I know what it is, why is it on veteran and expert servers though?
NCreepy 0 Posted June 26, 2012 It's an attempt to simulate how you see things in RL that isn't directly infront of you.
Kane (DayZ) 0 Posted June 26, 2012 Probably no option to disable it, I don't host a server though so I'm not sure.
frodevil 15 Posted July 2, 2012 It's not disable-able because it's a realistic feature; higher/lower "difficulty" settings are based on realism, not difficulty. Peripheral vision is realistic so it's always on. This is evidenced by waypoints not necessarily making the game easier or harder, just realistic.
