Stuck Underwater with a Broken Leg (Can not respawn)

I've been stuck under the water of a dock with a broken leg for a couple of weeks now waiting for a fix to come but still not resolved. 

My character's leg is broken and trying to escape a survivor i decided to jump in the dock and drown i died short after but the game doesn't allow me to respawn.

I've been relogging but it spawns me at the same place alive a couple of seconds after that I die but can not respawn.

I wonder - what if someone were to kill you next time you re-spawned would that break the cycle ?

 

You just need friend to join you and wait for you to join the server your on - you could try it I suppose and tell us the outcome of this experiment :D

Yes indeed, it works =)

 

It might take some time for your friend to come across the entire map to get you if he is far away, but (at least in my case) you can fix the bug by following the 3 simple steps which are instructed in my post.
