Correct.

You will eventually get to learn what buildings you can and cant enter.

Correct.

Incorrect.

Sometimes doors maybe closed and you can open them while looking at them and clicking

Basically this is a limitation of the Arma 2 engine, or rather a direct result of not having made the map themselves. There are only a handful of building designs which you can enter, and you just have to take some time to recognize them.

I just NOW started to recognize the large brick house with the hallway which runs down the middle of it.

Try checking for windows you can see in.

If you can see through the windows, you can enter a house, if the windows are totally opaque, you cannot. you press enter when the door open prompt appears for an enterable house. You soon figure out by sight which houses can, and cannot be entered(although, there are ones that are basically indenticle, minus the ability to eneter exit em)

But in short, you can tell by whether you can see through the windows.

Also churches that can be entered have 3 spires on top of it not one. Another tip is the the brown log houses without shutters can be entered but the ones with shutters cannot be entered.

this is solid advice and generally how i scout places out.

you can also click on the dots in this map : http://dayzdb.com/map#3.071.095

to see what the buildings look like. be aware that not all the buildings that look like those in the map will be enterable and i would advise to use the above window scouting method before you commit.

As mentioned, the map wasn't designed specifically for DayZ and as a result most houses do not have an interior that you can enter. Basically if a door gives you the option of opening it, you're good to go - if not, move on.
