Persistent starting skin

I did a search and saw a few custom/editable skin suggestions, which would be nice but I get that some people consider it a bit game-like.

All I would like to see is the civ skin you spawn in when you respawn persist until you die or change it for lootable skins. It's a little bit jarring to log out for an hour and come back to find that you aren't wearing the same clothes you were before.

This would be nice, and it would also be nice if other people saw the same skin.

Other players may see you wearing different clothing and may result in friendly fire.

What confuses the hell out of me is, that my friend sees me wearing different colors then I see on my screen? Exception being ghillie and camo suit ofc.

Yeah it happens to everyone.

I don't know, maybe it would affect performance too badly to be implemented? It just seems odd that you can select your face and voice, which is persistent and everyone can see that, but the same values can't be applied to outfits.
