standalone

What version are you on? Are you currently opted in to the Experimental? Information about that can be found here:

http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/177199-experimental-branch-testing-how-to/

The experimental servers are currently offline, so you won't be able to play with that version.

You can, however, switch back to stablebranch and playon the normal servers, that are currently version 0.44.123800.

If you think you are on on stable anyway, rightclick on DayZ in your Steamlibrary and go to Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Game Integrity.

That way an update will be forced and you should have the correct version to play Standalone.

That means you're ahead of the current stable branch, which means you're in experimental. You need to revert to Stable from the experimental branch.

Rightclick DayZ in your Steamlibrary and go to Properties -> Beta  and select "no beta" in the dropdownmenu, rather than "experimental".

But that's all described in the thread I linked earlier:

You could start by trying to click "Change Server" and make sure you find yourself a server that's on the same version as you. They show the version they're running in the serverlist and also have a green dot on the lefthandside, if you can join them.
